Senior & Staff/Principal Software Engineers, AI Platform - London - Up to £200k+ base, depending on experience, plus meaningful equity
📍 London, hybrid (2 days a week in the office) | 💰 Up to £200k+ base, depending on experience, plus equity
I’m working with a venture-backed AI company building the data and infrastructure layer that frontier AI models are trained on. It’s an early, fast-growing team tackling hard distributed-systems problems, and they’re hiring engineers at Senior and Staff level to shape the core platform.
What you’ll do
- Design and build backend services, APIs and large-scale data pipelines
- Own systems end to end, from early design through to running them in production
- Take loosely defined problems and turn them into practical engineering plans
- Raise standards in testing, monitoring, deployment and reliability
- At Staff level: set technical direction for whole parts of the platform and help other experienced engineers deliver, while still writing code day to day
What they’re looking for
- A strong track record building and running production systems
- Good architecture and system design instincts
- Experience in a typed language. The stack is TypeScript/Node.js, but strong engineers from Go, Java, Kotlin, Rust or C# backgrounds are very welcome
- Cloud experience, ideally AWS or GCP, plus some Infrastructure as Code
- Comfort working where priorities shift quickly
Bonus: Kubernetes or Terraform, high-volume data processing, internal tooling or developer platforms, or hands-on work with LLMs. AI experience is not essential.
