Senior Zscaler Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Zscaler Engineer for a client in the banking industry in the Netherlands. In this role, you will help build, maintain, and improve a mission-critical Secure Service Edge (SSE) platform, securing access to web, cloud, and private applications for more than 43,000 users worldwide. You will work across Zscaler, cloud, networking, security, and automation, troubleshooting technical issues, improving platform reliability, and helping evolve the organisation's Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) capabilities. Your Job - Building, maintaining, and delivering Secure Service Edge (SSE) services using Zscaler - Troubleshooting technical issues and leading troubleshooting calls with clients, third parties, and vendors - Working with engineers and other technical teams on new initiatives and platform improvements - Researching new features and contributing to technical documentation - Ensuring the continuity, reliability, and availability of cloud-based services - Developing and improving automation using Python and PowerShell - Applying security and operational best practices to keep the platform secure, compliant, and resilient - Working with cloud environments such as AWS and Azure - Supporting security technologies including VPN, SWG, NGFW, IPsec/GRE, Reverse Proxy, and SSO/MFA - Participating in an on-call rotation when required Your Profile - Experience working with Zscaler and Secure Service Edge (SSE) solutions - Strong understanding of networking and TCP/IP and experience troubleshooting network issues - Experience with Python and/or PowerShell scripting and automation - Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure - Experience with security technologies such as VPN, SWG, NGFW, IPsec/GRE, Reverse Proxy, and SSO/MFA - Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Microsoft Entra ID or ADFS - Experience working according to Agile, DevOps, Lean, and/or ITIL methodologies - Strong communication skills and the ability to work with engineers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, STEM, or equivalent technical experience - Fluent in English We Offer - Hybrid working environment - Salary up to €6,800 based on 40 hours - 25 vacation days Our Client Our client is a leading financial institution with a strong focus on innovation and sustainable growth, operating both locally and globally.
