Software Development Manager - Mayo Location: Mayo Hybrid: 2 days a week in the office Salary: €80,000–€90,000 per year, depending on experience About the opportunity This is an opportunity to shape how a settled software team works, grows and delivers. Help an established engineering team reach its next level Your impact You’ll set the team up to deliver dependable software by aligning people, priorities and plans. That means working with Product and business stakeholders to agree what matters, keeping delivery risks visible, and helping the team navigate dependencies and changing needs. A key part of the role is creating the conditions for engineers to do excellent work. You’ll support their development, encourage open collaboration and help establish consistent practices for design, code quality, testing and security. You’ll also refine how the team plans and delivers, clear obstacles, and identify useful applications for AI and automation. You’ll bring technical perspective to discussions involving APIs, cloud services, distributed systems and DevOps. What will help you succeed - A strong foundation in software development, built over at least 7+ years commercial experience. - 3+ years guiding or managing engineering teams. - Examples of helping engineers develop while maintaining an engaged, supportive team. - Experience steering software delivery and making sound trade-offs among scope, quality and timing. - Working knowledge of APIs, distributed systems and cloud technologies; Azure is a plus. - Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing and secure software practices. - Experience with Agile delivery, clear communication and productive stakeholder relationships.
