Regional CISO (French Speaking)

At Robert Walters, we are looking for an experienced Regional CISO for a leading international engineering and technology group. The role involves driving regional cybersecurity strategy, managing risks and ensuring compliance across a multicultural, multi-country environment. Key Responsabilities - Define and implement the regional cybersecurity strategy in alignment with global security objectives and business priorities. - Lead cybersecurity risk assessments, identify and prioritize risks, and develop mitigation plans and security roadmaps. - Establish and strengthen cybersecurity governance, risk management and compliance frameworks (GRC). - Ensure compliance with information security standards and regulations, including ISO 27001, and coordinate audits, remediation plans and certification processes. - Advise senior management and business stakeholders on cybersecurity risks, security investments and risk-based decisions. - Coordinate cybersecurity initiatives across multiple countries, subsidiaries and cross-functional teams. - Oversee security operations, architecture, assurance and incident response, supporting effective management of major cybersecurity incidents. - Drive security awareness initiatives and continuous improvement of security policies, processes and controls. - Support and develop cybersecurity teams, fostering a strong security culture across the region. Requirements - Proven experience in a CISO role, either currently or previously, with responsibility for cybersecurity strategy, governance and risk management. - Strong experience in cybersecurity risk management, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies and security roadmaps. - Solid expertise in GRC, including the implementation of security frameworks, policies, standards and regulatory requirements. - Strong technical background in cybersecurity, with a good understanding of security architecture, security operations, IAM, SIEM, network security and cloud technologies. - Experience with ISO 27001 and security audits; relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer are highly valued. - Proven ability to engage with senior leadership, influence strategic decisions and lead cybersecurity initiatives across complex, international organisations. - Advanced English (C1-C2) and advanced French (C1-C2) are essential. Spanish is a plus. - Based in Barcelona or willing to relocate to Barcelona in the short term. - Engineering degree or equivalent technical education.
