Our robust team of in-house, global Microsoft architects and engineers are certified in all 6/6 Microsoft Solutions Partner Designations in the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program.
Prioritizing a people-centric mission, TrustedTech has transformed the Microsoft software licensing experience, giving IT professionals complete confidence in the success of their Microsoft investment.
TrustedTech is the fastest-growing Microsoft Partner globally, with a presence in the UK and Europe for just over four years. Our continued success is built on relentless customer focus, innovation, and a world-class team. You’ll be joining a high-energy, high-impact organisation with the opportunity to make the role your own and directly influence our growth across the region.
Overview:
TrustedTech is seeking a Solutions Architect, Presales, to serve as a senior technical advisor and strategic bridge between Sales and Delivery for our U.K. Services organization. This role leads technical discovery, solution strategy, architecture, scoping, estimation, and customer-facing technical sales activities for complex Microsoft cloud opportunities.
The Solutions Architect will partner with Services Sales, Account Management, Acquisition Sales, Advisory, Delivery, and Microsoft field teams throughout the pursuit lifecycle. They will translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, and commercially practical solutions across Azure, Microsoft 365, Security, Data & AI, Copilot, and managed services, while drawing in specialists where deeper domain expertise is required.
This role requires hands-on technical credibility paired with strong executive communication. The successful candidate can move from a whiteboard session with engineers to an executive conversation about business value, then convert the agreed solution into a clear estimate, proposal, and statement of work that Delivery can execute with confidence.
Responsibilities:
Discovery & Solution Strategy
- Lead technical and business discovery for qualified opportunities, uncovering current-state challenges, desired outcomes, technical requirements, constraints, dependencies, security and compliance needs, decision criteria, and success measures.
- Facilitate architecture workshops, technical deep dives, whiteboarding sessions, and solution presentations with stakeholders ranging from engineers and architects to CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and business leaders.
- Translate customer priorities into well-architected recommendations and sequenced roadmaps based on value, risk, readiness, technical feasibility, and operational impact.
- Partner with Advisory when opportunities require business case development, operating-model design, adoption, governance, or broader transformation strategy before implementation.
Architecture, Scope & Estimation
- Design fit-for-purpose Microsoft cloud solutions across Azure infrastructure and platform services, Microsoft 365 and Modern Work, identity and security, Data & AI, cloud operations, and managed services.
- Develop current- and future-state architecture views, solution narratives, migration or implementation approaches, assumptions, dependencies, and roadmaps that clearly connect the technical design to customer outcomes.
- Create services scope, work breakdowns, resource plans, estimates, milestones, deliverables, acceptance criteria, responsibilities, exclusions, and implementation assumptions in partnership with Delivery and practice leaders.
- Apply relevant Microsoft guidance and architecture principles, including Cloud Adoption Framework, Well-Architected Framework, Azure Landing Zones, Zero Trust, FinOps, resiliency, governance, and security-by-design.
Technical Sales, Proposals & Deal Assurance
- Own the technical content of proposals and statements of work, ensuring architecture, scope, outcomes, assumptions, responsibilities, dependencies, and acceptance criteria are clear and delivery-ready.
- Create and deliver compelling technical presentations, whiteboards, demonstrations, solution briefs, and proof-of-concept approaches when they materially advance customer confidence or the pursuit.
- Participate in formal solution reviews and deal assurance, surfacing architecture risks, scope gaps, unsupported assumptions, skills requirements, and delivery dependencies before proposals are presented.
- Partner with Services Sales throughout the pursuit to qualify opportunities, explain technical tradeoffs and cost drivers, support commercial conversations, and co-present solution recommendations and executive readouts.
- Provide a structured transition into Delivery after signature, transferring the customer vision, architecture context, decisions, assumptions, risks, and expectations without requiring Delivery to rediscover the pursuit. The role may remain engaged through transition but is not the primary delivery resource.
Microsoft, Commercial & Cloud Economics Fluency
- Engage directly with Microsoft sellers, solution specialists, architects, and technical teams on joint opportunities, workshops, architecture validation, and partner-led transformation pursuits.
- Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft commercial and licensing constructs, Azure consumption economics, reservations/savings options, and total-cost-of-ownership considerations so architecture recommendations are technically and commercially practical.
- Understand Microsoft assessments, incentives, funding programs, reference architectures, and co-sell motions and incorporate them when they strengthen the customer outcome and accelerate the opportunity.
- Stay current across Microsoft's broader roadmap, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Security, Fabric/Data, AI, and Copilot, with the judgment to bring in specialists when deeper expertise is required.
Presales Excellence & Reusable Assets
- Help strengthen and standardize discovery frameworks, qualification criteria, architecture templates, estimation models, proposal standards, SOW patterns, reference architectures, and deal review practices.
- Capture lessons learned from pursuits and deliver feedback to improve solution quality, estimate accuracy, implementation readiness, and response time.
- Share technical knowledge with Sales and Services teams, helping sellers position cloud architecture, business value, and services capabilities more effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications (must-haves):
- 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, solution architecture, technical consulting, engineering, or presales roles, with significant client-facing responsibility for designing and shaping Microsoft-based solutions.
- Strong hands-on working knowledge across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 / Modern Work, including cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, security, governance, migration, Microsoft 365 administration, Teams, Intune, Entra, and related cloud operating considerations.
- Broad working knowledge across adjacent Microsoft solution areas such as Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Fabric, Azure AI, Copilot, and managed services, with the judgment to engage specialists when deeper domain expertise is required.
- 3+ years of meaningful presales or solutioning experience leading discovery, translating requirements into architecture and services scope, and producing customer-ready estimates, proposals, presentations, and statements of work.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both executive and technical audiences, including whiteboarding, presentation development, technical writing, and explaining architecture tradeoffs in business terms.
- Experience partnering with Delivery teams to validate scope, resource assumptions, implementation approach, delivery feasibility, and risk before contract signature.
- Strong organizational discipline and customer focus; able to manage multiple concurrent pursuits and maintain quality under sales-cycle timelines.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (nice-to-haves):
- Experience in a Microsoft partner, Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), systems integrator, managed services provider, or consulting organization supporting multiple concurrent customer pursuits.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Fabric Analytics Engineer, Azure AI Engineer, or comparable role-aligned credentials.
- Experience with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, Well-Architected Framework, Azure Landing Zones, Zero Trust, FinOps, and enterprise governance patterns.
- Experience shaping managed services, cloud operations, support, cost optimization, or licensing-informed architectures in addition to project-based Professional Services.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Partner Center, co-sell, assessments, incentives, funding programs, and the role of Microsoft field and technical teams in partner-led pursuits.
- Background across multiple industries or solution domains, with experience adapting architecture and business narratives to different customer contexts.
