Description
Head of IT – Powersports Distribution Group
Lead the IT transformation of a growing European distribution group.
Powersports Distribution Group (PDG) is one of the leading European distributors of premium motorcycle parts and accessories. Since its establishment in 2017, the group has grown rapidly through acquisitions and international expansion.
With that growth comes the next challenge: bringing different systems, platforms, processes and data structures together into a stable and scalable IT landscape.
For HocoParts, AFAM and Motorcycle Storehouse, we are looking for a Head of IT to lead this transformation.
The role
You will lead a team of 11 IT professionals and take responsibility for the IT environment supporting four warehouses across three countries. Your scope covers infrastructure and workplace IT, ERP, e-commerce, Pimcore and data.
Your agenda will be shaped by three major transformation projects:
- ERP standardisation: bringing HocoParts and AFAM, currently operating on different ERP platforms, onto one standardised solution.
- E-commerce: bringing the new webshop successfully to go-live and further developing the digital landscape.
- Pimcore & data: developing the recently introduced Pimcore platform and strengthening product data, governance and integrations with ERP and e-commerce.
Your position
You report directly to the Group CFO, who is responsible for Finance, IT, Legal and HR across PDG. You will work closely with the business and translate operational requirements into IT priorities, investments and solutions.
Your primary responsibility is for HocoParts, AFAM and Motorcycle Storehouse. You will also act as an IT adviser to other PDG companies. As the group continues to grow and integrate, the role has the potential to develop towards broader group-wide IT responsibility.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the IT team.
- Lead ERP standardisation and other major IT transformation projects.
- Ensure continuity, security and performance of infrastructure and business applications.
- Connect IT with logistics, warehousing, purchasing, sales and e-commerce.
- Manage external IT and implementation partners, contracts and service levels.
- Own the IT budget and prepare business cases for investments.
- Identify opportunities for automation, digitalisation and process improvement.
- Report on progress, risks, investments and IT performance to the Group CFO and management.
What we are looking for
Experience in wholesale, distribution or logistics is important. You understand how IT supports warehouse operations, fulfilment, order-to-cash and B2B distribution.
You also bring:
- At least five years of IT management experience, including responsibility for a team of approximately eight people or more.
- End-to-end responsibility for an ERP implementation or migration.
- Experience with ERP standardisation across multiple entities is a strong advantage.
- Experience integrating or harmonising IT environments following acquisitions.
- Experience managing external IT suppliers and implementation partners.
- Experience with e-commerce or other digital platforms and their integrations.
- The ability to translate IT choices into business cases and discuss investments with senior management and a CFO.
- Good command of English and willingness to travel between locations in three countries.
- Experience in an international or multi-entity environment is an advantage. Knowledge of PIM/DAM platforms such as Pimcore, data and integrations, BI and information security is also valuable.
Your profile
You combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic and hands-on approach. You are comfortable discussing a multi-year IT roadmap with the CFO, while remaining close to the operational reality of the business.
You bring structure, make decisions and know how to balance standardisation with the specific needs of different businesses.
Why join PDG?
This role combines IT leadership, ERP transformation, e-commerce and post-acquisition integration within a growing international organisation.
You will have direct access to the Group CFO, significant influence on the future IT landscape and the opportunity to build a scalable IT foundation for the next phase of PDG's growth.
Interested? I would be happy to tell you more about the organisation, the transformation ahead and the ambitions for this role.
