Staff System Engineer

Client: Our client is seeking an experienced Staff Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team. This is a senior hands-on role focused on building scalable automation platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code solutions and developer tooling across hybrid cloud environments. Role: Staff Infrastructure Automation Engineer Responsibilities: - Design and develop infrastructure automation platforms using Python, Terraform and Ansible. - Build reusable Infrastructure-as-Code modules and self-service infrastructure solutions. - Develop API-driven automation and orchestration across cloud and virtualisation platforms. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and implement GitOps and automated compliance workflows. - Automate provisioning and lifecycle management across Nutanix, VMware and KVM environments. - Support hybrid cloud automation across AWS and Azure. - Establish engineering best practices and provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers. Requirements: - 5–8 years' experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Automation or DevOps. - Strong Python development skills. - Expert-level Terraform and strong Ansible experience. - Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, APIs, Git, CI/CD and GitOps. - Experience automating at least two of the following: Nutanix AHV/Prism/AOS, VMware vSphere/ESXi or KVM/QEMU. - Experience with AWS and/or Azure. - Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, networking and hybrid cloud environments. - Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience. - Experience with Kubernetes, internal developer platforms, Python web frameworks, observability or policy-as-code would be advantageous.
