p> strong>Senior Blockchain Engineer /strong> /p> p> strong>Global Settlement · Miami, Florida (in person) /strong> · Full-time · Blockchain Infrastructure /p> p> em>Senior Blockchain Engineer to build and scale the core chain behind institutional settlement infrastructure: node infrastructure, consensus mechanisms, cross-chain systems, and protocol-level design. Hands-on engineering on production systems. Rust, Go, or comparable. 5+ years engineering, 3+ in blockchain. /em> /p> p> em>The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $240,000 per year. /em> /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>About Global Settlement /strong> /p> p>Global Settlement ( u>globalsettlement.com /u>) is building institutional-grade blockchain settlement infrastructure that bridges traditional banking and digital markets through stablecoins, commodities, FX, and real-world assets (RWAs). Think the global settlement reach of SWIFT, rebuilt for real-time, regulated digital asset transactions. /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>The role /strong> /p> p>You build and scale the core chain architecture on our blockchain infrastructure team: node infrastructure, consensus mechanisms, cross-chain systems, and protocol-level design, working alongside our application team. This is a hands-on engineering role on production systems, not a research or advisory one. You will be in the node, consensus, and settlement-protocol code daily. /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>What you ll do /strong> /p> ul> li>Design, build, and maintain blockchain node infrastructure and settlement protocol architecture. /li> li>Implement and optimize consensus mechanisms (PoA, PoS, BFT variants) for enterprise-grade performance and deterministic finality. /li> li>Architect cross-chain communication and bridging systems for multi-network interoperability. /li> li>Drive security, scalability, and reliability across all chain-level systems, and identify and mitigate the risks they carry. /li> li>Debug and harden production systems: consensus edge cases, node performance, and on-chain security. /li> li>Lead technical research on emerging protocols, L1/L2 architectures, and settlement patterns, and translate it into shipped code. /li> li>Collaborate with smart contract, application, and banking-integration teams to deliver integrated settlement solutions. /li> li>Own the RFCs, architecture decision records, and implementation standards engineering builds against, and mentor engineers through code and design review. /li> li>This role is a hands-on coding role with roughly 80% of your time spent coding, 10% of time spent strategizing and coordinating with team members, and 10% of your time spent documenting. /li> /ul> p> br> /p> p> strong>What you bring /strong> /p> ul> li>5+ years of software engineering, with 3+ years focused on blockchain development. /li> li>Deep hands-on experience with blockchain node infrastructure, consensus algorithms, and protocol-level system design. /li> li>Strong proficiency in one or more of Rust, Go, Solidity, Java, or Python, and the flexibility to switch stacks as the roadmap moves. /li> li>Production experience with Ethereum, Cosmos, Hyperledger, Canton, or comparable L1/L2 networks. A track record of shipping production blockchain infrastructure, not just smart contracts, is the strongest signal. /li> li>Command of cryptographic primitives, key management, and on-chain security practices. /li> li>Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). /li> li>Startup work ethic and heavy use of productivity and coding tools to multiply your own output and the team s. You can take a three-bullet brief and execute without hand-holding. /li> /ul> p> br> /p> p> strong>Nice to have /strong> /p> ul> li>Stablecoin systems, CBDC infrastructure, or RWA tokenization. /li> li>Cross-chain and interoperability protocols. /li> li>Financial services, payments, or regulated settlement background. /li> li>Digital asset compliance and regulatory requirements. /li> /ul> p> br> /p> p> strong>Note: /strong> This is a blockchain infrastructure role scoped to the core chain. The core focus is node infrastructure, consensus mechanisms, cross-chain systems, and protocol-level design. If your experience is solely in smart contract development or application backends without protocol-level work, this may not be the right fit. /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>Why join Global Settlement /strong> /p> ul> li>Ground-floor opportunity to architect settlement infrastructure used by sovereign and enterprise clients /li> li>Direct impact on how digital assets move through the global financial system /li> li>Work at the intersection of blockchain infrastructure, traditional finance, and regulatory innovation /li> /ul> p> br> /p> p> strong>Location /strong> /p> p> strong>This role is IN PERSON at our office in Miami, Florida. /strong> /p> p>New hires may start remote with the expectation of relocating to Miami within 60 days of start date.
