Description
Intelligence Center X is Siemens' platform for the agentic enterprise
The next wave of enterprise software isn't about writing more code — it's about giving organizations the tools to combine trusted data, AI, and applications into systems that can reason and act on their own. Intelligence Center X delivers that today, through five capabilities — an Enterprise Knowledge Graph, AI/ML, agentic application development, orchestration, and governance — that together move enterprises from static software to intelligent, autonomous systems.
For the customers we serve, that shift shows up in very concrete ways: engineers and data leaders who can finally find and trust the data buried across decades of enterprise systems; teams that go from idea to working application in days instead of quarters; and AI initiatives that move out of pilot purgatory and into production because the underlying data and governance can actually support them. Whether you're building this platform, proving its value to customers, or bringing it to market through our partner ecosystem, your work directly drives those outcomes for some of the most complex organizations in the world.
This is one of the most ambitious enterprise AI platforms in the market — built on decades of deep domain expertise across industries as varied as manufacturing, banking, insurance, financial services, and healthcare, and already running in production at real scale for organizations with some of the most demanding data and compliance requirements in the world. If you want to work at the intersection of enterprise AI, knowledge graphs, and agentic applications — with real customers and real production stakes, across nearly every major industry — this is where that work is happening.
Finance Business Partner - Mendix Portfolio
About the Role
Mendix, the global leader in enterprise low-code, is fundamentally reinventing the way applications are built, deployed, and managed. As we enter the era of Agentic AI, we are evolving our established SaaS foundation to integrate next-generation, AI-first consumption models. This transition requires new business benchmarks, agile monetization strategies, and a profound shift in organizational productivity.
We are seeking a visionary, growth-minded Finance Business Partner - Mendix Portfolio. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this is a highly visible, cross-functional leadership role acting as the premier strategic business partner to the Product & Technology (R&D), Cloud Operations, and Product Marketing organizations.
Rather than focusing on traditional backward-looking FP&A reporting, you will look forward - serving as the financial architect of our digital value chain and a trusted advisor to senior leadership. This is a highly strategic position with a dual mandate: driving maximum organizational effectiveness (strategic alignment across business segments) and driving operational efficiency (cost control, margin optimization, and R&D yield) as we scale. You will have a 360-degree view of the company’s operational and financial levers, helping to steer Mendix through an exciting business model transformation while driving alignment, compliance, and scale across the broader DISW and Siemens ecosystem.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering & AI Transformation
Cross-Functional Stewardship: Build deep, trust-based partnerships with senior leaders across R&D, Product Management, Cloud Operations, and Product Marketing to align financial strategy directly with operational execution.
AI Monetization & GTM Feedback Loops: Partner with Product and Go-To-Market teams to drive next-generation pricing, packaging, and commercialization strategies optimized for AI-driven value delivery, ensuring robust high-margin revenue structures.
AI Business Model Evolution: Actively guide the strategic pivot from traditional SaaS metrics toward an AI-first model, establishing modern benchmarks to evaluate business performance.
Commercial SaaS Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Global Sales Finance organization to bridge the gap between product innovation, large-scale commercial SaaS & consumption pricing mechanics, and field execution.
Cross-Segment Integration, Governance & Scale
DISW Collaboration & Standardization: Partner and collaborate closely with other business segments within DISW to share insights, exchange best practices on AI transitions, and drive financial and operational standardization across the organization.
Ecosystem Scale: Identify opportunities to scale SaaS and AI frameworks developed within Mendix across the wider DISW portfolio, positioning your team as a center of excellence.
Robust Governance: Ensure that as business models evolve swiftly toward AI, financial integrity, core metrics, and strategic risk management remain robustly integrated.
Portfolio ROI, R&D Productivity & Cost Control
R&D Productivity & Capacity Optimization: Design and implement rigorous frameworks to monitor and maximize R&D productivity. Align with Engineering leadership to evaluate developer velocity, capacity planning, and resource allocation to ensure R&D investments yield high-impact market value.
AI Cost Control & Margin Guardrails: Establish FinOps models to manage the unit economics of AI. Monitor and optimize the actual ROI of AI initiatives—balancing technology, tooling, and infrastructure investments against tangible outputs (developer velocity, automated marketing yield, and cloud margins).
Cross-Portfolio Planning: Lead the strategic forecasting, annual operating plans, and long-range planning for the R&D, Cloud Ops, and Product Marketing organizations, emphasizing forward-looking growth.
Leadership & Team Development: Direct, mentor, and develop a team of financial business analysts, leveraging agile principles to foster a culture of high learning agility, curiosity, and business-first thinking.
Critical Skills & Qualifications
Educational Background: BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or advanced certification a plus).
Progressive Leadership: 8+ years of experience in strategic finance, business partnering, corporate governance, or commercial project management, with a proven track record of advising executive stakeholders.
Strategic Finance Influence: Proven track record of advising executive stakeholders and acting as a change agent in business model transformations.
Matrixed Collaboration & Alignment: Demonstrated ability to influence, align and partner effectively across highly matrixed environments, global functions (like Sales Finance), and diverse business segments (such as DISW / Siemens ecosystem).
Business Model Adaptability: Deep familiarity with SaaS dynamics and commercial setups, combined with an intense curiosity and readiness to redefine benchmarks for the AI and usage-based era.
FinOps & Technical Agility: A strong desire to master the worlds of FinOps, cloud infrastructure cost dynamics (AWS/Azure), engineering velocity, and marketing analytics.
Exceptional Communication: Outstanding executive presence; experience preparing briefings for managing boards and distilling complex, multi-dimensional operational metrics into consumable strategic narratives for the C-suite.
People Leadership: Proven experience directly managing, mentoring, and developing an analytical team using empowering leadership methodologies.
