The Opportunity
Our client is an established technology business operating a complex, business-critical digital platform used by organisations across multiple international markets.
As the platform continues to evolve, they are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take technical ownership of the underlying infrastructure and help ensure the reliability, scalability and smooth operation of their services.
This is a hands-on engineering position rather than a people-management role. You will work closely with software engineering teams and have a direct influence on how the infrastructure is developed, deployed and operated.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and further develop the company's DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
- Work closely with development teams to understand technical and operational requirements and translate these into infrastructure solutions.
- Take a hands-on approach to infrastructure, deployment and operational improvements.
- Plan and coordinate releases, deployments and go-lives.
- Support the transition of new services into production and ongoing operation.
- Manage configuration, patching, updates and release strategies.
- Improve system reliability, availability, monitoring and performance.
- Work with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
- Contribute to wider infrastructure and technical projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, internal stakeholders and external technology/service partners.
What We're Looking For
- Several years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure or Systems Engineering.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking and systems administration.
- Good experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience supporting complex production environments, including deployments, releases, configuration and patching.
- Comfortable taking ownership of infrastructure projects and working across technical teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent German and very good English.
Why This Role?
- Senior technical ownership without direct people management.
- Opportunity to influence the development of a complex infrastructure environment.
- Hands-on exposure to cloud, Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices.
- Hybrid working around the Munich area.
- Long-term opportunity within an established technology organisation.
