Role Summary We’re looking for a YouTube Copywriter who can optimize our videos, making them easier to find, whether people search on Google, browse YouTube, or ask an AI assistant like ChatGPT or Gemini. In this role, you’ll research keywords, structure descriptions for discoverability, and write clear calls-to-action in a consistent brand voice, using AI to work faster while keeping your own judgment and creativity at the center. The successful candidate will have copywriting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to give and receive direct feedback. Job Duties & Responsibilities - Rewrite and optimize YouTube video descriptions for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). - Conduct keyword research and naturally incorporate relevant search terms. - Structure descriptions to improve discoverability and support AI search engines and answer engines. - Include strategic calls-to-action copy with links where appropriate. - Maintain a consistent brand voice across all content. - Leverage AI to increase productivity while also using critical thinking (not replacing it). - Keep multiple projects moving forward while maintaining the quality of communication in copywriting. - Leverage new technology to improve efficiency while keeping human creativity at the core. Qualifications & Skills Required - Experience in YouTube description copywriting with demonstrated professional copywriting experience. - Demonstrated results growing organic traffic through experience with YouTube SEO or video content optimization. - Experience optimizing content for Google Search, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI-powered search platforms. - Knowledge of engagement mechanics, prompts, and calls to action that audiences can easily understand. - Ability to take strategy or business objectives and turn them into language people can quickly understand and engage with. - Strong judgment, including the ability to let go of a line that resonates with you but doesn’t translate well to the audience. - Strong attention to detail and ability to strategically prioritize and meet strict deadlines. - Ability to research key words and metadata required to write accurate, engaging descriptions. - Comfortable working with large content libraries and repetitive workflows while maintaining quality. - Ability to receive direct feedback gracefully and to challenge a creative partner constructively. - Experience with health, nutrition, wellness, or educational content.
