Location: Hybrid 3 days (offices in NYC, Denver, CO and Charlotte, NC area) Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Staff Analyst to serve as a senior individual contributor within the Analytics Reporting organization. This role will provide technical and consultative leadership for Population Health and Unified Reporting for Judi Health clients, integrating medical and pharmacy data into trusted, scalable analytical solutions. The Staff Analyst will lead the analytical design of complex initiatives, translate ambiguous business needs into structured approaches, and partner with internal stakeholders across Client Services, Clinical, Product, Implementation, and other internal teams. The role will also elevate team capabilities through reusable solutions, technical guidance, peer coaching, and strong analytical standards Key Responsibilities: - Population Health and Unified Reporting - Lead the design and development of reporting that integrates medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility, utilization, provider, and related healthcare data to create a unified view of client performance and member health - Shape analytical approaches for Population Health reporting, including analyses of health conditions, utilization patterns, cost drivers, sites of care, and opportunities to improve outcomes. - Apply deep knowledge of medical claims structure, financial fields, diagnosis and procedure coding, provider data, and eligibility to develop accurate and meaningful measures. - Connect insights across medical, pharmacy, clinical, operational, and financial domains to support scalable reporting strategies and actionable recommendations. - Analytical Leadership and Stakeholder Partnership - Serve as a technical and consultative expert, translating complex or ambiguous business challenges into structured analytical frameworks, documented requirements, and scalable solutions. - Lead requirements-gathering and alignment with internal stakeholders, clarifying metric definitions, assumptions, data limitations, expected outcomes, and success criteria. - Architect reusable analytical patterns, templates, and frameworks; guide technical design decisions and partner on data-model enhancements. - Influence analytical approaches across workstreams through credibility, data-informed recommendations, and transparent tradeoff discussions. - Mentor analysts through code reviews, pairing, knowledge sharing, and coaching on technical and consultative best practices. - Deliver, Quality and Continuous Improvement - Lead planning and delivery for complex, multi-phase analytical initiatives, including milestones, dependencies, review points, risks, and scope changes. - Own communication across assigned workstreams and provide clear updates on progress, decisions, dependencies, mitigation approaches, and tradeoffs. - Validate the completeness, consistency, and accuracy of medical claims and related datasets through documented logic, reconciliation, testing, and quality controls. - Promote iterative delivery by sharing prototypes, validating direction, and refining solutions based on stakeholder feedback. - Identify systemic issues and implement solutions that improve the scalability, auditability, consistency, and efficiency of reporting processes. - Ensure adherence to company compliance standards, including reporting any noncompliance, and remain current on healthcare analytics and Population Health practices. Required Qualifications: - 4–6 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, healthcare analytics, or a related field, including 2–3 years of direct experience analyzing medical claims data. - Expert-level SQL skills, including experience designing, querying, validating, and optimizing solutions across large healthcare datasets. - Working knowledge of medical claim structure and lifecycle, including professional and institutional claims and inpatient and outpatient services. - Familiarity with diagnosis and procedure coding, including ICD and HCPCS, and the use of these codes in healthcare analysis and reporting. - Experience analyzing claim-level financial measures, healthcare utilization, provider and facility data, and eligibility information. - Ability to identify and account for common medical claims data-quality issues and establish appropriate validation approaches. - Experience leading complex analytical initiatives and translating ambiguous business challenges into structured analytical frameworks and scalable solutions. - Experience gathering requirements and building trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders, including senior or cross-functional partners. - Demonstrated ability to influence analytical approaches without formal authority and communicate risks, dependencies, recommendations, and tradeoffs clearly. - Experience mentoring peers, sharing technical knowledge, and improving team practices through reusable assets, documentation, or peer review. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex analysis into concise, actionable recommendations. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with both medical and pharmacy claims data to evaluate conditions, utilization, and spend. - Experience with Tableau or a comparable business intelligence and data-visualization tool. - Experience using Python for automation, data analysis, reusable analytical frameworks, or statistical modeling. Experience with R or SAS is also relevant where skills are transferable to Python-based workflows. - Familiarity with risk adjustment, risk scoring, condition-grouping methodologies, or Population Health measurement. - Experience with Snowflake or another cloud-based data warehouse. - Familiarity with dbt, GitHub, and version-controlled analytics workflows. - Experience in a PBM, health plan, healthcare consulting, actuarial, or Population Health environment. - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Analytics, Actuarial Science, Population Health, Public Health, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience - Experience working in a large-scale, high-growth organization or within Agile delivery practices. - Experience working in large-scale, high-growth organizations.
