Senior Cloud Engineer | National Security Location: London (hybrid) Salary: Up to £72,000 + bonus & benefits Type: Permanent Clearance: Must hold or be eligible and willing to undergo UK security clearance Build cloud solutions that support the UK’s national security mission. Join a leading technology consultancy where you’ll combine hands-on AWS engineering with the opportunity to influence technical decisions, working in an autonomous DevOps team delivering mission-critical applications and services. What you’ll be doing - Designing, building and maintaining secure, resilient AWS solutions. - Automating infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK. - Developing applications, services and automation using Python, TypeScript or another suitable language. - Improving CI/CD pipelines and deploying containerised workloads. - Shaping technical decisions across the full delivery lifecycle, from initial design through to production operation. What we’re looking for - Strong experience in AWS cloud engineering or DevOps, with ownership of production environments. - Broad knowledge of AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, IAM and serverless. - Proficiency in infrastructure as code and version control. - Practical coding skills alongside scripting and automation experience. - Strong troubleshooting skills and the confidence to explain technical decisions to colleagues and stakeholders. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, observability or AWS cost optimisation would be valuable, alongside AWS certifications. What’s in it for you?
