Machine Learning Engineer | Tier 1 VC-backed | 3D Computer Vision for World Models | Munich AI Futures are partnered with a Tier 1 VC-backed AI lab on a Search for a Machine Learning & Cloud Infra Engineer. World models are widely seen as the next frontier after large language models: AI that does not just describe the world, but understands and generates it in 3D. This company sits at the centre of that shift. Founded by a team whose research helped define modern 3D computer vision, and backed by leading deep tech investors, they are building foundation models that turn a prompt into a space you can step inside. The team is small, the ambition is very large, and the compute behind it needs an owner. The Role - Own and scale the GPU clusters that train some of the most demanding generative models being built today - Build the distributed training platform the research team relies on every day - Hunt down performance bottlenecks across GPUs, networking and storage - Run the cloud infrastructure end to end, from networking and access to cost and petabyte-scale data - Build the monitoring, observability and automation that keep research moving fast - Help take models from research to the real world The Candidate - 3+ years in infrastructure, platform or cloud engineering, ideally around machine learning - Hands-on experience with GPU compute at scale - Strong with Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform on a major cloud - Strong Python and automation skills - An ownership mindset: you would rather run the whole platform than a slice of it Nice to have - Experience with the latest generation of NVIDIA GPU clusters - Distributed training of large generative models - Observability and CI/CD tooling for ML workflows - On-prem or HPC cluster experience The role is based in Munich.
