You will own every production environment Nutritics runs, in Azure and in our data centre, and build the operations team around it. Nutritics, Ten Kites and QuickDish serve food businesses across Ireland, the UK, the US and the Middle East. This is a hands-on leadership role.You will lead security, reliability, observability, CI/CD and infrastructure as code across production, hands-on, while building and leading the team that runs it alongside you. Main Responsibilities💻 - Own production. Accountable for the availability, performance, security and cost of every production environment across our product portfolio, spanning Azure and a co-located data centre. - Build and lead the team. Hire, develop and lead a platform and operations team, growing the function as the business scales. - Reliability and incident response. Define service level objectives and own backup, disaster recovery and business continuity. Lead and mature our incident response capability: severity model, on-call rota, runbooks, status communications and blameless post-incident reviews, backed by centralised logging, error tracking, database profiling and alerting so we detect and resolve issues proactively. - CI/CD and developer enablement. Own and evolve continuous integration and deployment across all product stacks, with automated builds, test and security gates, and trunk-based development, working closely with engineering teams so shipping is fast and safe. - Infrastructure as code. Every environment and region is defined in code and reproducible from source control. You choose and standardise the tooling across our estate. - Cloud strategy and regional expansion. Lead the long-term evolution of our hosting, including cloud migration and new regional deployments that meet customer data residency requirements. - Platform security. Own platform-level security controls including perimeter protection, secrets management, identity and access, and vulnerability and patch management - DevSecOps. Build security into how we ship software, not just where it runs. Embed automated security testing across the delivery pipeline, including static and dynamic code analysis, dependency and container scanning, secrets detection and infrastructure-as-code checks, with clear policies on what blocks a release. Work with engineering teams to make secure-by-default the easy path, through hardened templates, threat modelling on significant changes, and fast feedback developers can act on. - FinOps and vendors. Own the infrastructure budget and forecast, report cost per product and environment, set reserved capacity strategy, and manage hosting and infrastructure suppliers, so unit cost falls as we grow. The Ideal candidate will have🙌 - Eight or more years running production systems, including being the person on the hook when they fail. - Deep AWS / Azure knowledge: networking, identity, managed SQL and MySQL, multi-region design. You have moved a workload from a data centre to cloud before. - Comfortable working across multiple technology stacks: Windows, SQL Server and .NET on one side; Linux, MySQL and PHP on the other. - Infrastructure as code in anger: Ansible / Terraform / Bicep, with the discipline to rebuild an environment from a clean repo. - Built CI/CD from the ground up, including for a team migrating off TFS or similar legacy tooling. - Secrets management, WAF and patching as routine, not projects. - Fluent written and spoken English. - The craic 😉 Strong plus - Operating in the US and Middle East from Ireland. Location and Hours of Work🌍 Our weekly hours of work are 37.5 covering Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role and we offer a lot of flexibility around core hours. This role can be based in Ireland, with a requirement to work from the local office one day every two weeks.
