Senior Network Security Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Network Security Engineer, based in Darmstadt with the flexibility of partial work-from-home arrangements. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing secure network solutions to safeguard infrastructure, supporting the organisation's cybersecurity frameworks, and ensuring system compliance with security standards. The position also involves proactive risk assessment, monitoring, and troubleshooting network performance and security issues, while cooperating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions effectively. Qualifications - Strong knowledge of Network Administration and Network Engineering - Expertise in Network Security and implementing secure network infrastructures - Experience in Cybersecurity and Information Security practices - Administration and maintenance of firewalls (i.e. Palo Alto, Cisco ASA and Cisco FirePower) - Auditing and implementation of corrective actions of firewall configuration - Experience with high-availability mission critical environments - Working knowledge of IT foundations (e.g. network, OS, application…) - Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) - Forensic analysis - Threat intelligence and Threat hunting - Vulnerability management, in particular performing vulnerability assessments - Designing, implementing and delivering large scale enterprise network security solutions - Administration and maintenance of network security solutions - 24/7 stand-by/on call services - Designing, implementing and delivering large scale information security solutions - Administration and maintenance of information security solutions - Familiarity with international security standards and protocols (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 27002, NIST) - Security-focused auditing for compliance to either security requirements or standards like ISO/IEC 27000 series - Patching and hardening of infrastructure in an operational environment - Experience with Technical writing - Incident response - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - Fluency in English
