Head of Infrastructure Operations

Head of IT Infrastructure & Operations - Major Energy business - Leading Global Energy Business - Hybrid role - 3 days a week in the London office - Reporting to the UK CIO I'm partnering with a leading global energy business to appoint a Head of IT Infrastructure & Operations for its UK business. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Lead the operation, resilience and continual improvement of UK infrastructure including networking, hosting, cloud and the IT services supporting Operational Technology across corporate offices and industrial sites. As part of the UK IT Management Team, you'll help shape IT strategy and transformation. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Infrastructure, Network & Cloud – own services across offices, cloud and industrial sites, including IT for OT: site connectivity, firewalls, industrial networks, identity, secure remote access, backup and monitoring • Service Management & Incidents – manage incidents, problems and changes, and lead major incident response where operations are impacted • Governance – contribute to IT strategy and budget, and define clear IT/OT boundaries with Engineering, Operations, Cyber and H&S • Architecture & Security – maintain on-prem and cloud platforms and standardised site network architecture, with proportionate cyber controls • Resilience & DR – own availability, tested backups, recovery and DR for critical IT and OT-supporting services • Lifecycle & Change – govern patching, firmware and long-life assets in step with site operations • Suppliers – manage key infrastructure partners and third-party escalations SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Resilient, well-documented and recoverable services, controlled change, and clear IT/OT ownership understood by everyone. DIMENSIONS • Team of c.6 • c.1,400 users across remote, office and industrial environments • Multiple UK industrial sites and operational assets • c.£1m annual opex, plus project capex KEY RELATIONSHIPS CIO and IT leadership, Group IT and Cyber, Engineering and site teams, business leaders, and strategic suppliers and MSPs. WHAT YOU'LL BRING • Significant experience running enterprise infrastructure, networks, cloud and OT services in complex industrial environments • Strong IT for OT knowledge – SCADA, remote operations, segmentation, secure remote and privileged access • Deep cloud resilience and BC/DR expertise – HA, RTO/RPO, recovery testing • Technical depth across Microsoft, AWS and Azure • Commercial strength – budgets, suppliers, contracts and licensing • An understanding of power generation and industrial operations • Proven leadership of specialist teams and senior stakeholders QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Computing/IT or a related technical discipline.
