Head of Engineering | UK | Hybrid Bateman Collins, acting on behalf of a leading international organisation, is seeking to engage with an experienced Head of Engineering to lead a critical engineering function. This role will span Cloud, Platform, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Network Engineering. This highly visible leadership role defines engineering strategy, drives modernisation, and builds a high-performing engineering culture that delivers secure, scalable, and resilient technology services. Key Responsibilities - Define and execute enterprise engineering strategy across cloud, infrastructure, platform, network and DevOps environments. - Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. - Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including automation, SRE, observability and cloud-native technologies. - Establish engineering standards, governance and operating models that enhance quality, consistency and delivery. - Provide technical leadership for major transformation and platform modernisation initiatives. - Build strong partnerships across technology and business functions to align engineering outcomes with strategic objectives. - Drive simplification, efficiency and cost optimisation across the technology estate. - Manage key technology suppliers and strategic partnerships. About You - Proven experience leading multiple engineering disciplines within a complex enterprise environment. - Strong background across Cloud, Platform, Infrastructure, Network and DevOps functions. - Demonstrable success transforming engineering capability, culture and operating models. - Deep understanding of modern engineering practices, Agile delivery and automation. - Strong commercial awareness, stakeholder management and vendor leadership experience. - Passion for developing people and building high-performing teams. - Able to translate technical complexity into clear business value and strategic direction.
