Generative AI Engineer

Help Shape the Future of AI in Insurance We are partnering with one of the UK's leading insurance organisations on a major AI transformation programme and are looking for an exceptional AI Engineer to join a growing enterprise AI team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge initiatives spanning Generative AI, Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Semantic Search, AI Agents and Enterprise AI Platforms, helping deliver innovative solutions at scale across a complex, highly regulated environment. You'll work alongside AI Architects, Data Scientists, Engineers and Business Leaders to build secure, scalable and production-ready AI capabilities that create measurable business value. Key Responsibilities - Design, build and deploy enterprise-grade AI and GenAI solutions. - Develop applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) and foundation models. - Build agentic AI and multi-agent solutions to automate complex business processes. - Implement RAG architectures, vector databases and semantic search capabilities. - Integrate AI services into enterprise applications using modern APIs and cloud-native architectures. - Optimise, monitor and improve AI model performance in production environments. - Collaborate with architecture, security and governance teams to ensure responsible and compliant AI adoption. - Support the evolution of enterprise AI platforms, engineering standards and MLOps capabilities. - Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies and contribute to innovation across the organisation. What We're Looking For - Strong experience developing and deploying AI, Machine Learning or Generative AI solutions. - Hands-on expertise with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG frameworks and vector databases. - Experience with Python and modern AI frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel or equivalent. - Knowledge of Agentic AI, AI orchestration frameworks and autonomous workflows. - Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and/or Azure. - Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD pipelines and production AI operations. - Strong software engineering and API development skills. - Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder engagement capabilities. - Experience working in regulated industries such as insurance, banking or financial services is advantageous.
