With a strong presence across Ireland and an extensive project portfolio, they are committed to shaping sustainable, safe and resilient built environments. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Principal Fire Engineer to join their Fire Safety Engineering team in Dublin, Galway or Cork. Your new roleAs a Principal Fire Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of fire engineering projects from concept through to completion. You will lead the development of fire safety strategies, provide technical expertise across a broad range of sectors, and support clients and multidisciplinary design teams throughout the project lifecycle.This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the growth of an established fire engineering team.Key Responsibilities - Lead the development and delivery of fire safety strategies for a diverse range of projects. - Prepare high-quality fire engineering reports and supporting documentation. - Produce and review fire safety design drawings and technical submissions. - Conduct fire risk assessments and surveys of existing buildings. - Undertake site inspections and audits in accordance with BCAR requirements. - Review contractor proposals, material submissions and design team information. - Liaise with clients, design teams, contractors and relevant authorities. - Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. - Support business development activities and maintain strong client relationships. What you'll need to succeed - Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Fire Safety Engineering or a related engineering discipline. - MSc in Fire Safety Engineering is desirable. - Significant post graduate experience within a fire engineering consultancy or comparable environment. - Strong knowledge of Irish fire safety legislation, building regulations and construction methodologies. - Experience developing fire strategies and delivering fire engineering solutions across multiple project sectors. - Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Strong client facing and stakeholder management skills. - Full Irish driving licence and willingness to attend site visits as required. - Chartered Engineer status, or eligibility to achieve Chartered Engineer membership through Engineers Ireland. - Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior engineers. - Familiarity with performance-based fire engineering design methodologies.
