Senior Record to Report Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and proactive Expert General Ledger Accountant to join our Central Accounting Team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely execution of General Ledger accounting activities, while contributing to risk management, process efficiency, and continuous improvement. Beyond executing accounting activities, the successful candidate will be expected to work independently, anticipate challenges, identify improvement opportunities, and actively contribute to initiatives that strengthen financial operations. The role requires close collaboration with regional and headquarters Finance teams, Tax, Legal, Systems, and other internal stakeholders. About the Role - Hub Entity Accounting, Budgeting & Tax Compliance Support: - Ensure best in class financial and accounting processes of the Hub entity including budget and forecast monitoring, financial performance analysis, and variance reporting. - Take ownership on the annual budgeting and forecasting exercise, collaborating with Finance and other stakeholders to ensure accurate planning and alignment with business objectives. - Liaise with external tax consultants to coordinate the preparation and timely submission of monthly and annual tax declarations, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and statutory requirements. Provide relevant financial information, supporting documentation, and follow-up on tax-related matters, audits, and other regulatory obligations. - General Ledger Accounting & Financial Control: - Oversee and monitor General Ledger accounting activities across all entities under the scope, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate policies and applicable accounting standards. - Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. - Ensure compliance with internal controls and established accounting procedures. - Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and timely explanations. - Stakeholder management & Quality Service: - Take ownership of delivering accurate, timely, and reliable accounting services, consistently meeting established deadlines and quality standards. - Proactively identify recurring errors, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve service delivery. - Implement corrective actions and contribute to sustainable solutions that address root causes. - Maintain accurate process documentation and support knowledge-sharing initiatives. - Demonstrate a service-oriented mindset when collaborating with internal stakeholders. - Seeing the Big Picture: - Recognize the relationship between GL processes and other accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A. - Drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls beyond assigned transactional activities. - Communicating & Influencing: - Communicate clearly, proactively, and professionally with colleagues, management, and cross-functional stakeholders. - Provide timely updates on assigned activities, outstanding issues, risks, and progress against deadlines. - Escalate potential delays or accounting concerns proactively, including relevant context and proposed solutions. - Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, active listening, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. - Ownership, Accountability & Independent Problem-Solving: - Demonstrate a high level of ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities and deliverables. - Work independently, effectively managing priorities and meeting deadlines without requiring continuous supervision. - Anticipate operational challenges and take proactive action to prevent delays or errors. - Continuous Improvement & Delivering Results: - Active role in accounting transformation projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives. - Challenge inefficient practices and drive process improvements. - Manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced, international business environment. About You - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. - Minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, with strong expertise in General Ledger accounting. - Solid knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements. - Proven experience in financial closing, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and accounting analysis. - Knowledge in Mexican local tax compliance. - Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion. - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. - Experience in shared services environment. - Experience participating in finance transformation, automation, or ERP implementation projects.
