Description

About Terivo Terivo is a new Scottish broadband provider preparing to launch in Q1 2027. We’re building a broadband business around one simple idea: people deserve a better standard of service, and the people who rely on us should share in what we build. Our technology is what customers actually experience. Ordering, billing, support, fault handling and the equipment in their homes all come down to the systems we run and how well we run them. We want Terivo to be lean and efficient, using automation and AI wherever it genuinely helps, so our people spend their time on the conversations and judgement customers value. Technology should make the service more human, not less. We’re early stage, but we’re building properly from day one. The foundations laid now are designed to support a nationally scalable broadband provider with strong governance and long-term ambition. The Role We’re appointing a Chief Technology Officer to take full executive responsibility for Terivo’s technology, through launch and into live operations and growth. The role carries a statutory directorship and a seat on the board. Terivo operates as a Layer 3 wholesale customer, with core network delivered by our wholesale partner. That makes the systems, integrations and partnerships you lead central to the standard of service we promise. This is a hands-on role as well as a strategic one. It needs real time and real commitment through launch and our first year of trading. You’ll be accountable for delivery: setting the direction, doing the work, meeting the deadlines you agree with the board, and keeping us clearly informed along the way. Most of all, you’ll make sure what we promise customers is exactly what our systems deliver. You’ll also need to live in the UK and be able to travel to Ayr for board meetings, on average three to four times a year. What You’ll Own - Terivo’s technology strategy and roadmap, aligned with our commercial plans and reported regularly to the board - Our OSS/BSS estate, including provisioning, billing, CRM, payments, the customer portal and self-service - The technical relationship with our wholesale partner, including integration, service levels, fault management and escalation - Customer premises equipment end to end, including suppliers, logistics and estate monitoring - Switching and porting processes, and the technical side of regulatory compliance - Launch readiness and live service operations, with resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery built in - Security and data protection, including the Telecommunications Security Act and UK GDPR, working alongside our Data Protection Lead - Automation and AI across the business, always with a clear route to a real person - Supplier governance and technology budgets What We’re Looking For We’re looking for a strong, reliable technology leader with deep experience in UK telecoms, and a track record of ownership, accountability and delivery. In particular: - Proven CTO or senior technology leadership within an ISP, fibre or telecoms business - A track record of delivering to agreed deadlines, ideally in launch or early-stage environments - Someone who takes ownership, sees things through and communicates clearly and proactively with the board - Hands-on experience implementing OSS/BSS platforms and working in the detail of systems integration and APIs - Experience managing wholesale partners, multiple vendors and service levels - A strong grasp of UK telecoms regulation, security and data protection - A practical approach to using automation and AI to run lean, without losing the human touch - Motivated by building something properly for the long term - Someone based in the UK who can travel to Ayr for board meetings, around three to four times a year The Package - Meaningful equity from the outset, with the range and vesting terms discussed openly with shortlisted candidates - A statutory directorship and real influence over Terivo’s long-term technical direction - A structured move to cash remuneration, linked to agreed funding and growth milestones - The chance to build the technology behind a new Scottish broadband provider from the ground up Please note: This role is equity only at the start, with no salary, moving to paid remuneration as the business grows. It’s intended for an established technology leader motivated by ownership, responsibility and long-term outcomes. Applicants must live in the UK. We’re moving quickly on this appointment and expect the full process, from first interview to offer, to take two to three weeks. Applications close on 30 October 2026.
