Generative AI Engineer

Join Amaris Consulting as a AI Engineer and contribute to the design and development of enterprise-grade AI agents within a clinical-operations data environment. You will work on AI solutions combining LLMs, LangChain, LangGraph, AI orchestration, semantic search, RAG, and governed data access, with a strong focus on reliability, traceability, evaluation, and responsible AI. YOUR MISSION ✍️ - Design and develop a conversational AI agent capable of understanding natural-language questions, generating and executing SQL queries, synthesising answers, and providing explanations and source citations. - Design and implement AI agent orchestration using LangGraph and LangChain, including multi-step workflows, tool calling, agentic patterns, and decision-making flows. - Implement agent architectures based on patterns such as ReAct, plan-and-execute, and multi-agent workflows. - Implement guardrails for scope enforcement, hallucination detection, traceability, and responsible AI in a regulated clinical environment. - Integrate LLMs, tools, APIs, and data sources into orchestrated AI workflows using LangChain and LangGraph. - Implement governed data access based on user roles and business purposes, including row-level, attribute-level, and object-level controls. - Integrate semantic assets such as business glossaries, KPI definitions, semantic models/views, ontologies, and contextual information into the AI architecture. - Implement RAG and semantic search capabilities to improve the relevance and accuracy of AI-generated answers. - Design and maintain an evaluation framework covering SQL correctness, answer faithfulness, regression testing, confidence intervals, and drift detection. - Implement observability and monitoring for prompts, LLMs, agent workflows, and semantic assets. - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated regression gates for prompts, semantic-model artefacts, and agent configurations. YOUR PROFILE 🔎 - 5+ years of experience in AI Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience developing production-grade AI/LLM applications, ideally conversational analytics or text-to-SQL solutions. - Strong Python development skills. - Hands-on experience with LangChain and LangGraph for building and orchestrating AI agents and multi-step workflows. - Strong understanding of AI orchestration, including agent workflows, tool calling, function calling, state management, and multi-step reasoning patterns. - Experience with LLMs and Generative AI, including prompt engineering and integration of LLM APIs. - Experience with RAG, semantic search, embeddings, or vector-based retrieval. - Advanced SQL skills, including analytical queries, window functions, data modelling, and performance optimisation. - Experience with Snowflake, including data modelling, SQL, and ideally Snowflake Cortex. - Experience with AI evaluation and observability frameworks such as Ragas, DeepEval, LangSmith, Arize, Weights & Biases, or equivalent tools. - Experience working in regulated or governance-focused environments, including RBAC, data classification, audit trails, purpose-bound data access, and responsible-AI guardrails. - Experience working with semantic models, business glossaries, KPI definitions, or ontologies. - Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Fluent English.
