Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong backend engineering skills and practical experience using AI tools to improve how software is built and delivered. You’ll join an experienced engineering team, taking ownership of technical work from initial problem-solving and design through implementation, deployment, and production support. Working closely with product, design, and business stakeholders, you’ll help shape solutions, make sound technical decisions, and build software that delivers measurable value. Your primary focus will be backend engineering: designing and maintaining reliable services, APIs, integrations, and data flows. You’ll also contribute to cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and observability, ensuring that the systems you build are reliable, secure, and maintainable. AI is an important part of the engineering workflow. You’ll use AI coding tools and agents to explore solutions, implement changes, improve testing, and investigate issues, while applying your own technical judgment to everything you ship. Key responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain backend services and business logic, from requirements through production support. - Translate business needs into practical technical solutions in collaboration with product, design, and other stakeholders. - Develop reliable APIs, integrations, and data flows, with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability. - Contribute to cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and production monitoring. - Use AI coding tools and agents effectively, providing clear specifications and context and validating generated code. - Improve engineering workflows, automated testing, code reviews, and delivery practices. - Collaborate with fellow senior engineers through technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing. Technology stack - Python for backend services, automation, and data processing. - SQL and systems handling large volumes of data. - AWS and infrastructure as code, including AWS CDK. - Kotlin and Spring Boot for parts of the backend. Strong backend engineering fundamentals matter more than experience with every technology. Kotlin/Spring Boot experience is a plus. What we're looking for - 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a senior engineering role. - Strong hands-on backend development experience in Python or another relevant language. - Experience designing and maintaining production systems, including APIs, data models, database interactions, and integrations. - Practical knowledge of cloud infrastructure, automated deployments, and production monitoring. - Strong engineering fundamentals, including system design, clean and maintainable code, automated testing, and structured debugging. - Practical experience using AI coding tools and agents in real development workflows, with the ability to review, validate, and improve AI-generated code. - The ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems, make pragmatic technical trade-offs, and deliver reliable solutions. - Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Nice to have - Experience building internal tools or automation to improve development, testing, or debugging. - Experience improving AI-assisted engineering workflows through reusable instructions, context, and automated checks. - Strong SQL skills and experience with high-volume data processing or distributed systems. - Experience with AWS, infrastructure as code, or deployment automation. - Familiarity with Kotlin/Spring Boot or event-driven backend systems. - Experience in adtech, performance marketing, or other data-intensive environments where tracking accuracy and reliability are essential.
