Description
Are you Prorenata's next Senior DevOps Engineer?
We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer who knows Kubernetes well. We are growing our DevOps team as we move from managed Kubernetes to building and running our own clusters. You will help us build this platform from the ground up.
Prorenata builds user-friendly, effective and engaging tools for people who are often stuck with old and hard-to-use systems. We have been profitable for more than ten years, we are growing fast, and our office is in central Stockholm.
Our main product, Prorenata Journal, is a record system for school health services. It is used by about 80% of Sweden's municipalities. We are now also launching Flow, a new product for case management. Our products are medical devices under the EU medical device rules (MDR), so quality and security are part of everything we do.
Our platform runs on Kubernetes on OpenStack at the Swedish cloud provider Elastx. We use open source tools such as Terraform, Helm, Argo CD, GitHub Actions, Grafana and OpenSearch.
Prorenata's history
Prorenata was founded in 2010 and has grown on its own by about 25% per year. We are fully funded by our customers, and their needs guide our work.
"We want to build tools that help people make a difference." – Jens Alm, CEO and founder
We are mostly family owned and have about 65 employees.
About the role:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Prorenata, you will join our DevOps team of three people and report to the DevOps team lead. Together you will take over the running of our Kubernetes platform.
Our systems hold sensitive health data about children and young people. That is why we invest a lot in security, including hardening our Kubernetes clusters. You will play a key part in this work.
There is no on-call duty outside office hours today. During office hours, the team takes turns being on call. After-hours on-call may be added in the future.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting up, running and improving our own Kubernetes clusters on OpenStack
- Hardening the clusters and helping keep our platform secure
- Working with our deploy pipelines and infrastructure code
- Working with logging and monitoring, so we can see problems early
- Helping our developers ship code safely and quickly
- Sharing what you know with the team
What we are looking for:
You must have solid hands-on experience of setting up and running Kubernetes clusters.
It is a plus if you have experience with:
- CI/CD pipelines
- OpenStack
- Log management
- Running databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
- Terraform, Helm, Argo CD, GitHub Actions, Grafana or OpenSearch
- Using AI agents in DevOps work, for example letting AI tools help you build, run or fix infrastructure
We also like people who are curious and have worked with many different technologies. But hands-on Kubernetes experience is a must.
You can do this job in English. Swedish is a plus, since Swedish is the everyday language at the office.
We offer:
- A workplace with great chances to learn and grow, both in your skills and as a person.
- A warm and helpful culture with really nice and fun colleagues. We believe in being a team and having fun along the way.
- A hybrid workplace: we value meeting at the office (3 days a week) for teamwork and culture, and we also offer the freedom to work from home some days.
- The chance to work on a product that makes a difference for its users.
- A fair market salary and generous benefits.
