Director of Infrastructure Architecture

Infrastructure Architect (Executive Director) £150,000 - £175,000 + Bonus London (Hybrid - 40% Office) | Permanent Join a major global banking organisation undergoing significant technology transformation as they build a modern, consolidated infrastructure platform across cloud, data centre, and end-user computing environments. This is a highly visible Executive Director position reporting to the Head of Architecture, responsible for defining the target-state infrastructure strategy and leading large-scale consolidation, migration, and transformation initiatives across the bank. The Role - Define and own the future-state infrastructure architecture - Lead data centre consolidation and migration programmes - Drive cloud adoption across AWS and Azure environments - Develop cloud landing zones, hybrid connectivity, and infrastructure standards - Lead VDI and end-user computing consolidation initiatives - Own operational resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity architecture - Drive infrastructure cost optimisation and estate rationalisation - Provide architecture governance and Design Authority oversight - Work closely with Engineering, Security, Cloud, Network, and Business leaders Skills & Experience - Extensive Infrastructure Architecture experience within Financial Services - Strong experience delivering data centre migration, consolidation, or exit programmes - Expertise across AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms - Experience designing hybrid cloud architectures - Knowledge of VDI technologies including Citrix, VMware Horizon, and Azure Virtual Desktop - Strong understanding of operational resilience and disaster recovery - Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code - Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic change What's On Offer? - £150,000 - £175,000 base salary - Competitive bonus - Executive Director title - High-profile transformation programme - Significant influence on enterprise technology strategy - Hybrid working (40% office) - Opportunity to shape the future infrastructure estate of a global bank
