Junior Engineer

**Academic Qualifications**: * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience **Skills and Experience**: **Technical Skills** Essential * Some exposure to DevOps, infrastructure, or systems engineering (through study, projects, internships, or work experience) * Basic familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) * Awareness of Infrastructure-as-Code concepts (Terraform, Ansible, or similar) * Comfortable navigating Linux environments * Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, VPNs, firewalls) * Methodical troubleshooting skills Desirable * Any exposure to deploying or administering data science software * Familiarity with R and/or Python ecosystems * Basic exposure to containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) * Some scripting experience (Bash, Python) for automation * Awareness of monitoring/observability tooling (Zabbix, Grafana or similar) **Soft Skills** * Interest in working in a consultancy or client-facing environment * Good communication skills, with the ability to explain things clearly and ask questions when unsure * Able to manage a small number of tasks or requests at once, with support prioritising * Shows initiative and takes ownership of assigned tasks * Reliable in seeing individual pieces of work through to completion, with guidance available
