Principal Platform Engineer | AWS | Kubernetes | GitOps - City of London - Hybrid (2 days in the office) Salary: £110,000 - £140,000 For engineers who want to shape the platform — not just run it. We’re working with a well-funded UK fintech entering an exciting phase of commercial growth, and we’re looking for a Principal Platform Engineer to help define what comes next. This is a genuine hands-on technical leadership role. You’ll have the autonomy to challenge the existing platform, make architectural decisions, build better patterns and raise the engineering bar. The stack: AWS • EKS • Kubernetes • Terraform • Argo CD • GitHub Actions • Helm • Grafana • VictoriaMetrics You’ll be tackling: - Platform architecture and technical direction - Kubernetes and cloud hardening - GitOps and deployment automation - Security, resilience and disaster recovery - Observability and production readiness - Repeatable customer environment provisioning - Mentoring engineers and establishing engineering standards - We’re looking for someone with deep production experience across AWS and Kubernetes, strong engineering judgement and a track record of building platforms that are secure, resilient and scalable. - Fintech, regulated environments or SaaS experience is a strong plus.
