Main Tasks & Responsibilities
• Administer and support Windows Server environments across VMware and Microsoft Azure, including build, configuration, patching and health monitoring.
• Perform daily production checks, monitoring and alert reviews.
• Manage Microsoft Azure IaaS, including Virtual Machines, networking, storage, backup and monitoring.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid Active Directory environments, including synchronisation, access management and identity lifecycle.
• Apply security, access control and least-privilege principles across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange.
• Provide infrastructure support for Dynamics, DNS and general platform services.
• Provide support for the organisation's GCP environment where required.
• Manage incidents and service requests through ITSM processes and Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Own incidents through to resolution and root-cause analysis (RCA).
• Raise, coordinate and implement infrastructure changes through established CAB/change management processes.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and infrastructure provisioning using technologies such as PowerShell, Terraform and ADO pipelines.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures and runbooks in Confluence.
• Work collaboratively with the wider Infrastructure team and technical/business stakeholders.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments.
Requirements
• Strong hands-on experience in Windows Server administration.
• Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure IaaS.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid Active Directory environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange.
• Good knowledge of DNS and general infrastructure services.
• Experience working across both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Experience with ITSM processes, including incident, service request and change management.
• Understanding of CAB and change governance processes.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps (ADO) boards.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of incidents and technical issues.
• Strong focus on security, operational discipline and service quality.
Nice to Have
• VMware administration experience.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and ADO pipelines.
• Experience supporting infrastructure for Microsoft Dynamics.
• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with infrastructure automation using PowerShell or similar scripting technologies.
• Microsoft certifications such as:
• AZ-104 – Azure Administrator
• MS-102 – Microsoft 365 Administrator
• AZ-400 – DevOps Engineer
• Experience in enterprise-scale infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure security and least-privilege best practices.
