Description
Introduction
Do you like to combine hands-on engineering with big-picture system thinking? Then join the Embedded Computing Systems business line of our client, where you will help build, integrate, validate and improve the next generation of cabinet systems for the semiconductor industry. You start close to the technology and the production floor, so you learn the system inside out, and you grow towards full architectural ownership and technical leadership.
The role
You design, own and continuously improve the system architecture of both empty and fully configured cabinet systems. You integrate servers, hardware and supporting equipment, from our client and from third parties, into robust, scalable and maintainable solutions that meet customer, quality, performance and compliance requirements.
You take the lead in configuration management, system integration, testing, validation and technical decision-making. You connect engineering, manufacturing, quality and project teams to bring products successfully to market. You spot technical risks early, protect the integrity of the architecture, and make sure the systems perform reliably, are easy to service and stay sustainable in the long term.
Your responsibilities
- Work with customers to translate their requirements into technical solutions, take part in technical reviews, manage expectations and give expert advice from development through deployment.
- Act as the technical link between R&D and production, making sure design choices are scalable and practical to manufacture.
- Select and evaluate system components on feasibility, performance, cost and manufacturability.
- Lead and support EMC/EMI testing, analyse the results and drive corrective actions where needed.
- Measure, troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis on the production floor when problems occur.
- Keep a holistic view of the system and assess technical decisions in the context of the product and the business.
- Lead technical discussions, align stakeholders from different disciplines and balance competing priorities to find the best solution at system level.
- Bring together the views of hardware, software, manufacturing, quality and project management to reach project goals.
What you bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Engineer, Integration Engineer, Hardware Engineer or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with high-tech, semiconductor or complex hardware environments.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for thermal management, EMC, electrical safety, ESD and semiconductor equipment requirements.
- Experience with multidisciplinary product development and system integration.
- Confidence in dealing with customers.
- The ability to zoom in on technical details and zoom out to the bigger picture.
- Energy from leading technical discussions and influencing decisions across disciplines.
- A drive to solve complex technical challenges and turn ideas into robust system solutions.
