Director of Finance (Insurance)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Finance (Insurance) based in the United States. This is a hands-on finance leadership opportunity within a growing program insurance business. You will own how financial results are interpreted, controlled, reported, and communicated across the organization. Working closely with the CFO and Controller, you will help build the finance function, rather than simply maintain an established operation. Your scope will span financial reporting, technical accounting, FP&A, controls, audit, tax, treasury, and interim HR responsibilities. You will play a critical role in navigating complex insurance accounting topics, including reinsurance, commissions, premiums, collateral, and restricted cash. The role offers significant autonomy, with the expectation that you will personally build key processes during the first year and grow the team as the business scales. It is an ideal opportunity for an experienced insurance finance leader who enjoys building structure, exercising judgment, and turning complex financial information into clear business insight.
