Description
Start your journey with our Agentic Engineering Practice and build the foundation for an exciting career as an AI Engineer with one of our large banking clients.
You will join our Agentic Engineering and Build Capability CoE as part of a client squad, working alongside senior engineers and Forward Deployed Consultants on real problems: agentic systems, AI-enabled products, and the evaluation and governance that make them safe to ship. We are not training you to write code AI can already write; we are training you to do what AI cannot: understand the problem, specify it precisely, evaluate the output, and defend your reasoning to engineers and the business alike.
Benefit from our Skills Lab, guided by experienced coaches who will help you expand your expertise, strengthen your professional skill set, and ensure you are fully prepared for a successful client engagement. Depending on your prior experience and existing knowledge, the programme can be tailored with a flexible duration to support your individual development needs.
Coaching (remote)
During your first 12 weeks, you will work in agile teams to tackle real-world business challenges while developing the skills needed for a successful consulting career. Within our Agentic Engineering Practice you will gain experience in:
- SQL, Python, SDD
- APIs, Testing & RAG
- Agentic AI & MCP
- Capstone & Client Delivery
- Security & Readiness
- Full-stack & Devops
Client Assignment:
Following the completion of your training, you will join a client project as AI Engineer with a leading international bank.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI agents and multi-agent workflows using modern LLM and agentic AI frameworks.
- Integrate AI agents with existing enterprise applications, APIs, data sources and integration platforms.
- Build solutions using approaches such as RAG, tool/function calling, orchestration and agentic workflows.
- Develop APIs and backend services, primarily using Python.
- Work with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar approaches for connecting AI systems to enterprise tools and services.
- Integrate commercial and open-source LLMs, potentially including Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Azure OpenAI/OpenAI and other appropriate models.
- Design appropriate guardrails, observability, testing and evaluation for agentic systems.
- Work with cloud and infrastructure teams to deploy solutions into controlled enterprise environments.
- Collaborate with platform, security, architecture and engineering teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements.
- Evaluate emerging agentic AI technologies and determine where they can deliver practical business value.
Requirements:
- A degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or a closely related field.
- Around 1 year of hands-on software engineering or AI development experience, gained through full-time roles, internships, working student positions, research projects, placements, or similar practical experience.
- Strong Python software engineering skills and a solid understanding of software development best practices.
- Hands-on experience building applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI technologies.
- Experience developing AI agents, agentic workflows, or AI-powered automation solutions.
- Strong programming fundamentals and object-oriented design knowledge, with the ability to review, evaluate, and improve both human-written and AI-generated code.
- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector-based retrieval techniques.
- Experience implementing LLM tool/function calling, structured outputs, and AI workflow orchestration.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, context management, and LLM evaluation techniques.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience deploying applications within AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform environments.
- Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
- Understanding of security, governance, and risk considerations when integrating AI solutions into enterprise environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to challenge, validate, and improve AI-generated outputs.
- Curiosity for emerging technologies and a proactive approach to continuous learning.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
