Sitting on the People Systems team, you will design, build, and optimize our core HR and People technology ecosystem—primarily focused on Workday—enabling smooth data flow, system reliability, and automation across our global HR tools. In this role, you will partner closely with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders, drive technical integration projects end-to-end, and shape how our HR systems scale alongside Asana's growth.
This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve
- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Document Transformation, and Web Services APIs.
- Drive technical project management for People Systems integration initiatives, including requirements gathering, effort estimation, timeline planning, and tracking project tasks through to launch.
- Maintain and optimize our existing catalog of inbound and outbound Workday integrations to maximize system efficiency, scalability, and data integrity across the People ecosystem.
- Monitor and troubleshoot complex integration issues in a timely manner, upholding strict data privacy and system reliability across HR applications.
- Partner cross-functionally across the People Team, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to align technical integration strategy with company objectives.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including process flows, integration specifications, and standard operating procedures for ongoing system support.
- Proactively identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities in our integration architecture, contributing to the People Systems technical roadmap
- Stay current with new Workday releases, feature updates, and People Systems architecture best practices to continuously improve our integration infrastructure.
About you
- Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.
- Proven track record in building, launching, and supporting complex enterprise integrations within the Workday ecosystem (using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Cloud Connect).
- Strong technical foundation in HR technology and enterprise software integration, including experience with data formats and transformation tools (such as XML and XSLT), API-based and file-based integration methods.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end integration projects, from initial stakeholder requirements gathering to effort estimation, timeline planning, and execution.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail regarding sensitive HR data accuracy and performance tuning.
- Collaborative cross-functional communicator capable of translating complex technical requirements into clear outcomes for non-technical People Team partners.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to navigate ambiguous problems and prioritize workload in a dynamic environment.

To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between CAD 123,000–140,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
