The Team Chief Energy Transition Office (CETO) role is to vision, lead, transform, digitise, deliver and support the transformational programme to deliver the power system and market to 2030 and beyond maximising the integration of renewables in a sustainable way at an affordable cost taking on board the voices of all aspects of our society. With an ultimate target of having a decarbonised power system in advance of 2050. The Portfolio Technology Team within Strategic Portfolio Delivery (SPD) in CETO is responsible for delivering technology solutions across EirGrid's five strategic technology portfolios: Power Systems Capability, All-Island Markets Programmes, Corporate Data & AI, Foundation Infrastructure and Offshore The Opportunity We are seeking experienced Technology Delivery Leads to provide technical leadership across several specialist areas, including Infrastructure, Data, Integration & AI, and Applications. These roles will lead technical delivery professionals and work closely with IT Services, Operations, Architecture, Cybersecurity, business stakeholders and technology vendors to deliver robust, secure and supportable solutions. Working as part of the Delivery Technology Team, you will shape and lead technical delivery from early discovery and solution scoping through design, build, integration, testing, pre-production, commissioning readiness and operational handover. The Delivery Technology Team will support across all the Delivery Portfolio Teams (All Ireland programmes, Offshore, Technology Foundation etc) and be the drivers and experts in the delivery of solutions to EirGrid. The role acts as the primary technical delivery interface between Strategic Portfolio Delivery, IT Services, Operations and external partner and vendors, ensuring that technical decisions, dependencies, risks and readiness criteria are clearly understood and actively managed. The Technology Delivery Lead roles will be aligned to one of the following specialist domains: - Infrastructure & Platforms: Responsible for the delivery of infrastructure, cloud, networks, cybersecurity, hosting platforms, resilience and operational technology foundations. - Data & Integration: Responsible for the delivery of enterprise data platforms, analytics solutions, integrations, APIs, event-driven architectures, AI and automation capabilities. - Corporate Applications & Energy Management and Market Systems: Responsible for the delivery of enterprise and operational applications, market systems, energy management platforms, Service Management Systems, business-critical applications and associated integrations. About You - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data, Networks, Cybersecurity or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. - 10+ years' experience in technical leadership, technology delivery, engineering, IT operations, systems integration, infrastructure, applications, data platforms or operational technology environments. - Proven experience leading the delivery of complex technology solutions within large-scale enterprise, utility, energy, transmission system operator (TSO), market systems or other highly regulated and mission-critical environments. - Strong technical expertise and/or Industry certification in one or more of the above domains mentioned. - Demonstrated experience acting as the technical lead between delivery teams, IT operations, service management teams, architecture functions and third-party technology vendors. - Strong understanding of the full technology lifecycle, including solution design, build, integration, testing, deployment, commissioning, operational readiness, service transition and support. - Experience ensuring solutions meet operational, security, resilience, availability, performance and supportability requirements before transition into live service. - Proven ability to review, challenge and influence technical designs, implementation approaches, integration strategies, testing plans and vendor deliverables. - Experience managing and coordinating multiple suppliers, systems integrators and technology partners, holding vendors accountable for delivery quality, technical standards and operational outcomes. - Strong understanding of modern technology delivery practices including Agile delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing and release management. - Excellent technical problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with engineers, architects, operational teams, vendors and senior business stakeholders.
