Engineering Lead | Co. Monaghan | €65,000–€70,000 | Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm What you need to know Matrix Recruitment is recruiting for an Engineering Lead on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organisation based in Co. Monaghan. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to lead maintenance operations, improve equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing site. The successful candidate will manage the engineering and maintenance team, oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, and work closely with internal departments, contractors and suppliers to ensure operational efficiency and compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance team, overseeing daily operations, staff development, performance management and training. - Develop and implement planned and reactive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support manufacturing performance. - Manage engineering projects, maintenance budgets, external contractors and suppliers, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives, asset management programmes and optimisation of automated systems and manufacturing equipment. - Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and statutory requirements while maintaining effective reporting, maintenance systems and operational standards. Requirements: - Recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). - Minimum 5 years' relevant engineering or maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment. - Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience implementing change and driving continuous improvement. - Strong knowledge of planned maintenance, engineering project management, CMMS and maintenance management systems. - Excellent organisational, communication and budget management skills, with a systematic approach to health, safety and environmental compliance.
