Head of Platform & Data

Own the platform our clinical products run on, the data ecosystem the business depends on, and the team that delivers both. The Opportunity Humaneva is building its Platform & Data function in Poland and is looking for a leader to own it. You will shape the platform our clinical products run on, the data ecosystem the business depends on, and the team that delivers both. This is a build role with significant ownership of architecture, engineering standards, technology choices and team growth. You will modernise the data platform and integrations while establishing a reliable, well-governed way of working. Our Environment AWS is our primary cloud and Snowflake our analytical platform. The environment includes an established data warehouse, clinical data integrations, EHR, laboratory and genomic feeds, financial systems, Power BI and SAS. We are moving towards stronger Infrastructure as Code, automation, observability and standards-based integrations. What You’ll Do Lead and grow the Platform & Data team, including data engineering, data quality and DevOps/reliability capabilities. Own the target architecture and operating model for infrastructure, environments and deployment platforms. Drive platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident management, automation and Infrastructure as Code. Lead modernisation of the data warehouse, pipelines and integrations across clinical and corporate systems. Establish automated data quality, governance and reliable self-service data capabilities. Embed security, privacy and compliance into platform and data engineering, including GDPR, GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable. Own platform and data costs and manage external vendors or implementation partners where needed. Partner with Product, Clinical Operations, Finance, Quality, Security and the CTO organisation to turn business needs into clear platform priorities. What We’re Looking For 10+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure or data engineering, including 3+ years leading engineers with production-reliability accountability. A strong track record of hiring, developing and leading senior engineering teams. Experience owning a data platform or warehouse modernization end to end. Hands-on understanding of cloud architecture, CI/CD, automated deployment and Infrastructure as Code in production. Experience establishing reliability practices, including service levels, monitoring, alerting and incident management. Strong understanding of security, access control, privacy and audit requirements. Ability to stabilize existing systems while building new capabilities in parallel. Professional English; Polish is an advantage. Nice to Have Experience in clinical research, healthcare, pharma or another regulated environment. AWS and Snowflake experience, including understanding of their cost models. Knowledge of FHIR, HL7 or CDISC. Experience with Power BI, SAS or comparable analytical platforms. Experience leading geographically distributed teams.
