MEP Engineer/Design Manager (m/f)

At DCT – Digital Construction Technologies, an Irish company that recently opened an office in Trindade, Porto, we specialize in BIM Modeling, Digital Construction Management, and Project Management, with a strong presence in data center projects. We currently have more than 60 employees spread across our offices in Ireland, Croatia, Argentina, and Bosnia. From our Porto office, we participate in international projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, working with clients and partners in various markets and contributing to projects of high complexity and scale. About the Role: We are looking for a Design Manager to join our team and take on a central role in managing and coordinating BIM projects for data centers. This is a strategic position with a strong focus on technical coordination, project management, and leadership, working closely with the Director of Operations. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and coordinate the BIM design and development process for projects; - Coordinate multidisciplinary teams in engineering, architecture, and BIM modeling; - Ensure the integration and compatibility of different disciplines within the BIM environment; - Oversee the production and quality of models, drawings, documentation, and other deliverables; - Oversee the project from the initial design phases through to final delivery; - Identify and manage clashes, interfaces, technical risks, and coordination issues; - Work directly with the Director of Operations, contributing to project planning and monitoring; - Support the definition of the company’s BIM methodologies, standards, workflows, and processes; - Support the implementation of best practices in BIM and digital delivery within the organization; - Contribute to the resolution of technical issues and to decision-making throughout the project. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in a related field; - Relevant professional experience in Design Management, BIM Management, or project coordination (more than 5 years of experience); - Experience with data center, industrial, mission-critical, MEP, or highly complex building projects is a plus; - Solid knowledge of BIM processes and methodologies; - Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams; - Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP designs; - Experience with BIM tools, specifically Revit, Navisworks, or equivalents; - Ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and multiple projects; - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with various stakeholders; - Ability to work independently, in an organized manner, and with a results-oriented approach; - Professional-level English, both written and spoken; - Experience in data centers or mission-critical environments (we value); - Knowledge of specific requirements for critical projects, including MEP, electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems; - Experience in international environments and with distributed teams; - Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM information management processes; - Experience in defining and implementing BIM standards, BEP, and workflows; - A profile focused on continuous improvement and the creation of scalable processes.
