Software Engineering Manager This is atop client of ours who are based in central Dublin in lovely refurbished new offices. Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing software engineering team responsible for delivering scalable, secure and customer-focused technology solutions within a complex digital environment. Job Responsibilities - Lead, coach and develop a high-performing engineering team, creating clear development pathways and supporting individual career progression. - Foster an inclusive, collaborative and accountable engineering culture with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and technical excellence. - Work closely with technical specialists and wider business teams to design and deliver robust, scalable and resilient software solutions. - Provide technical leadership and contribute to engineering standards, technology direction and longer-term development priorities. - Partner effectively with Product, Design, Technology and other stakeholders to ensure engineering activities remain aligned with customer and business objectives. - Promote high standards across software engineering, including quality, scalability, reliability and maintainability. - Ensure engineering teams adhere to secure software development practices, appropriate security controls and vulnerability remediation processes. - Manage competing priorities across the engineering function while maintaining a strong focus on delivery, team performance and customer value. Experience Required - Minimum 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with demonstrated experience leading or managing engineering teams. - Strong technical background with previous hands-on experience across full-stack software development. - Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop software engineers within a high-performing technology environment. - Experience developing, scaling and supporting large SaaS platforms or comparable enterprise software solutions. - Strong understanding of Agile software development practices and modern customer-focused product delivery. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical and business priorities within a fast-paced and complex environment. - Excellent stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills. - Strong problem-solving capabilities with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Experience creating an engineering culture focused on accountability, professional development and continuous improvement. Desirable Skills - Previous experience within financial services or another large-scale technology environment. - Product Owner experience or a strong understanding of product-led software development. - Experience with Agile coaching, software delivery or engineering transformation initiatives. - Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle principles and vulnerability management. - Additional language skills would be advantageous. Educational Requirements - Third-level degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
