Sage AI Labs focuses on advancing agentic commerce and partnering with organizations that are building in this space. Role Description The Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain backend services that power Sage AI Labs’ checkout infrastructure and consumer applications. This full-time remote role includes architecting scalable systems, writing high-quality code, reviewing peers’ work, and improving performance and reliability across production services. The engineer will collaborate closely with product, data, and machine learning teams to integrate new features, refine APIs, and ensure secure, resilient transaction flows. Day-to-day responsibilities also include troubleshooting issues, optimizing deployment pipelines, contributing to technical documentation, and mentoring other engineers. The role involves participating in technical discussions, proposing solutions, and helping shape the long-term engineering roadmap. Qualifications - Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design. - Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade services. - Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, working with APIs, microservices, and databases. - Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and patterns. - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization/orchestration tools. - Knowledge of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and observability tools. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams and communicate clearly in English. - Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Experience in commerce, fintech, or AI-driven products is a plus.
