Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly qualified professional to join our team as a Senior Data Engineer. As an essential part of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms and pipelines that enable efficient data processing, analytics, and business decision-making. We are looking for a professional with strong expertise in Python, SQL, cloud technologies, and modern data engineering practices. Qualifications - Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL (mandatory) - minimum 4 years - Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (mandatory) - Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable data pipelines - Strong knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principles - Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes - Proficiency with Apache Spark and distributed data processing frameworks - Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka, Flink, or similar - Solid understanding of data warehousing, database design, and large-scale processing systems - Experience implementing data quality, integrity, and monitoring controls - Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance best practices - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills - Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders - Native Portuguese speaker and English proficiency at B2 level or above Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain efficient, scalable, and reliable data pipelines - Develop, test, and maintain data architectures, databases, and large-scale processing systems - Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions - Create, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion and transformation - Implement and manage data ingestion processes from multiple internal and external data sources - Monitor data pipelines and ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across platforms - Optimize data systems and processing frameworks to maximize performance, scalability, and reliability - Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide support for data infrastructure and platform needs - Apply data governance principles and maintain data models aligned with business requirements Nice to Have - Cloud certifications in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform - Experience supporting AI, Machine Learning, or Advanced Analytics Location: Lisbon, Portugal Working Model: Hybrid Seniority: Mid-Senior Level
