Principal Engineer – GenAI Orchestration

Principal Engineer – AI-Enabled Embedded Software / GenAI Orchestration Location: Munich, Germany - hybrid 3 days onsite 2 days from home Employment Type: Full-time We are working with a leading global technology company seeking an experienced Principal Engineer / AI Architect to drive the transformation of embedded automotive software development through Generative AI and agentic AI technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded automotive software engineering, combined with hands-on experience developing GenAI solutions. You will design and implement AI agents and orchestration platforms to automate software development processes, improve engineering efficiency and reduce development timelines. We are particularly interested in candidates who have already worked on GenAI-driven engineering automation projects, although previous end-to-end project delivery is not essential. You must be capable of working independently, defining technical approaches and driving solutions through to implementation. Key Responsibilities - Architect and develop AI-enabled embedded software engineering platforms. - Design and implement GenAI and multi-agent solutions to automate engineering workflows. - Apply AI across requirements, coding, testing, validation, documentation and root-cause analysis. - Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce manual effort and accelerate software development. - Integrate AI solutions with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and CI/CD pipelines. - Independently lead technical development and drive AI adoption across engineering teams. Required Skills - Strong embedded automotive software development background, including knowledge of the software development lifecycle. - Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG and agentic AI. - Experience with LangChain, AutoGen or CrewAI. - Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++. - Experience with software architecture, engineering automation and CI/CD. - Understanding of embedded systems, RTOS and automotive software development. - Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Azure/AWS. Desirable Experience - Previous delivery of GenAI or AI agent solutions to automate software engineering processes. - Experience improving engineering efficiency or reducing development timelines through AI. - Knowledge of ASPICE, MISRA, ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434.
