Cloud Engineer

AWS Cloud Engineer | Stevenage Are you an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer looking to work on large-scale, business-critical cloud environments? Akkodis is building a pioneering IT & Digital Centre of Excellence, delivering major cloud, software and infrastructure programmes across the UK. We’re looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to help design, build and manage secure, scalable and highly available AWS environments. What you’ll be doing - Designing, building and maintaining secure AWS cloud environments - Creating infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK - Working with services including EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail and ECS/EKS - Automating provisioning and deployment using Python, Bash, PowerShell or AWS CLI - Supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Git and GitLab - Implementing AWS security, monitoring, logging and cost-optimisation practices - Investigating cloud infrastructure incidents and completing root-cause analysis - Collaborating with Development, Security and Operations teams - Producing architecture documentation, SOPs and operational runbooks What we’re looking for - At least three years’ hands-on experience in AWS Cloud Engineering or Operations - Strong knowledge of AWS services, networking and cloud security - Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK - Scripting experience using Python, Bash or PowerShell - Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, such as Azure DevOps or GitLab CI - Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills - The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator would be beneficial, as would experience supporting enterprise systems and working with ITIL or service-management frameworks.
