Build something that makes life easier for families We're an early-stage startup in consumer EdTech, working on a problem millions of families in Germany deal with every school year. The market is large, the pain is real, and customers are ready to pay. We're looking for a CTO to build the platform from the ground up. Where we are - Problem validated and product fully specified - Business model defined - Brand and legal groundwork in place - You'd be owning and scaling the current MVP. You choose the stack, design the architecture and set the engineering culture. Full details are shared under NDA once we've had a first conversation. What you'll do - Own the full technical side: architecture, stack, build and launch of the MVP - Design and ship AI-powered features that are useful, reliable and affordable to run - Build privacy in from day one. Our users include families, so DSGVO compliance is core, not an afterthought - Make smart build-vs-buy calls and keep us shipping fast - Hire and lead the engineering team once we raise - Shape every key company decision as part of the leadership team Who you are - You've built and shipped a web or mobile product end to end, ideally in a startup - You're at home with modern cloud stacks and putting LLM/AI features into production - You take data protection seriously and know your way around DSGVO - You're comfortable deciding with incomplete information and owning the outcome - You're based in Germany and happy to work remotely, with occasional in-person meetups - You're curious, humble and low-ego. You'd rather get it right than be right, and you say so when you disagree. - You care about the people using what you build, and you bring energy and good humour, even when things get messy.
