System Engineer

Overview:Kreative Technologies is looking for a System Engineer to design, build and maintain the infrastructure our applications run on. You will keep servers, operating systems and environments secure, stable and well-documented. The ideal candidate is hands-on, systematic and focused on uptime. You should be comfortable supporting multiple environments and working with developers and security staff. Duties/Responsibilities: - Designs, installs and configures servers, operating systems and system software. - Maintains development, test and production environments. - Applies patches, updates and security hardening settings. - Monitors system performance and resolves infrastructure issues. - Automates system tasks and deployments with scripts and configuration tools. - Supports backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning. - Maintains system documentation and diagrams. - Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: - 5+ years of systems engineering or administration experience. - Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments. - Experience with virtualization or cloud platforms such as VMware, AWS or Azure. - Scripting experience with shell, PowerShell or Python. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently in a remote environment. - Continually required to use common office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, scanners and printers. Preferred Qualifications: - Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, RHCE or AWS/Azure certifications. - Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible or Terraform. - Experience supporting federal government contracts.
