The platform operates on a cloud-native Microsoft Azure architecture, supporting mobile SDKs and highly available backend services for critical airline use cases. As the platform enters a period of production growth and increasing technical complexity, you will play a key role in strengthening its reliability, delivery automation, security, observability, and operational maturity. This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong experience in Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, and CI/CD with a solid production mindset covering incident management, platform reliability, secrets management, artifact repositories, and mobile/backend delivery pipelines. 🎯 Your Mission As a DevOps / Cloud Platform Engineer, you will: - Strengthen the reliability and scalability of the cloud-native platform. - Secure and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting mobile and backend applications. - Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes. - Improve production stability, system availability, and incident response. - Establish GitOps-based deployment and configuration practices. - Enhance monitoring, logging, alerting, and overall platform observability. - Support development teams in delivering changes faster and more safely. - Identify opportunities to introduce AI-assisted automation into DevOps and platform operations. 💼 Key Responsibilities CI/CD & Release Automation - Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting mobile SDKs and backend services. - Automate build, integration, testing, packaging, and deployment processes. - Develop and maintain pipelines using: - GitHub Actions - GitLab CI/CD - Implement reliable deployment workflows across development, testing, staging, and production environments. - Improve pipeline security, execution speed, traceability, and maintainability. - Reduce manual deployment activities and operational risk. - Support controlled releases, rollback processes, and production validation. - Ensure deployments are consistent, repeatable, and aligned with platform standards. GitOps & Deployment Management - Implement and improve GitOps practices for platform configuration and application deployment. - Work with tools such as: - Argo CD - Flux CD - Maintain declarative environment configurations through Git. - Use Helm to package, configure, and deploy applications. - Ensure infrastructure and application changes are version-controlled, reviewed, and auditable. - Improve deployment consistency and reduce configuration drift between environments. - Establish safe rollback and recovery mechanisms. Azure Cloud Engineering - Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure running on Microsoft Azure. - Support and optimize services related to: - Azure Kubernetes Service - Storage - Networking - Identity and access - Ensure cloud resources are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-conscious. - Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues. - Collaborate with architecture, security, and development teams on cloud design decisions. - Support service capacity, availability, and performance requirements. Kubernetes & Container Platforms - Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes. - Operate and improve workloads running on Azure Kubernetes Service. - Configure and maintain: - Kubernetes workloads - Services and ingress - Health probes - Autoscaling - Resource requests and limits - High-availability configurations - Improve cluster and application resilience. - Troubleshoot deployment, networking, capacity, and runtime issues. - Contribute to OpenShift environments where applicable. - Support reliable production operation of distributed backend services. Platform Reliability & Production Operations - Support production environments and ensure platform availability. - Investigate and resolve incidents across cloud, Kubernetes, application, and pipeline layers. - Participate in root cause analysis and corrective-action definition. - Improve platform resilience and reduce recurring operational issues. - Identify technical debt and contribute to remediation plans. - Support capacity planning, performance improvements, and platform scalability. - Ensure operational activities follow agreed processes and service expectations. Incident Management - Support the investigation and resolution of production incidents. - Coordinate with backend, mobile, infrastructure, and security teams during critical issues. - Gather technical evidence and support root cause analysis. - Implement preventive actions following incidents. - Improve runbooks, escalation procedures, and operational documentation. - Contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Secrets & Security Management - Integrate secure secrets management using HashiCorp Vault. - Ensure credentials, tokens, certificates, and other sensitive information are not exposed through code or pipelines. - Apply least-privilege and secure-access principles. - Strengthen pipeline and platform security controls. - Collaborate with Security teams on vulnerability remediation and compliance requirements. - Contribute to secure software supply chain and deployment practices. Artifact Management - Manage and optimize artifact repositories such as: - Artifactory - NuGet - Support package publication, versioning, storage, and retrieval. - Ensure build artifacts are reliable, traceable, and appropriately managed. - Improve dependencies and artifact lifecycle processes. - Support both mobile and backend delivery requirements.
