About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the technical guardian of our digital environment, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems, data, and people. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach, bridging the gap between Security Architecture and Operations. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and verifying security controls across our technology stack, which includes endpoints, cloud infrastructure, networks, and applications. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining our high security standards and safeguarding our platform against evolving cyber threats. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional certifications and experience. - 3–5+ years of experience in Information Security or Security Engineering with demonstrated ownership of security controls in a production environment. - Hands-on experience implementing security controls in domains such as endpoint security, identity management, cloud security, network security, or application security. - Comprehensive understanding of core security domains and their interactions within an enterprise environment. - Proficiency in technical auditing, including verifying system configurations against standards like CIS Benchmarks or internal policies. - Experience with log analysis, security telemetry, and incident response, capable of troubleshooting across network, endpoint, application, and cloud logs. - Basic to intermediate scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation of security checks and incident response tasks. - Excellent communication skills to effectively translate technical risks for diverse audiences and collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Fluent in English; German language skills are considered a plus. Responsibilities - Design, implement, and maintain robust security controls across our technology infrastructure, defining precise configurations and policies to protect our systems and data. - Act as a technical auditor by reviewing system configurations and security baselines, providing guidance to close security gaps and ensure compliance with internal and industry standards. - Manage identity and access security by implementing strong authentication mechanisms, least privilege principles, and privileged access controls to safeguard critical assets. - Utilize security monitoring tools and telemetry to detect anomalies, investigate alerts, and coordinate timely remediation efforts to mitigate potential threats. - Develop and maintain secure configuration baselines and engineering standards, establishing clear criteria for what constitutes a secure system environment. - Automate security processes and checks through scripting, streamline incident response workflows, and integrate various security tools for enhanced efficiency. - Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including runbooks and security procedures, to facilitate clear understanding and execution by IT and engineering teams. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices into development and operational workflows, fostering a security-first culture.
