Head of IT
£59,267–£63,526 | 35 hours per week | Belfast, with travel across Northern Ireland
Ready to lead an IT function and see the difference your work makes?
We’re partnering with a third sector organisation to appoint a Head of IT. This is an opportunity to lead a team, strengthen the technology colleagues depend on and shape how the IT function develops.
You will combine practical technical knowledge with people leadership, improving security, resilience and service delivery while keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.
What you will lead
- Strengthening cybersecurity, maintaining Cyber Essentials certification and addressing priority risks.
- Improving hardware configuration, device management and compliance through Intune.
- Managing and improving Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud infrastructure and licensing.
- Strengthening disaster recovery, backup testing and service resilience.
- Improving information governance and supporting GDPR compliance.
- Holding technology suppliers accountable for service, value and assurance.
- Developing the IT team through clear priorities, coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Delivering well-managed change that makes technology easier and more effective to use.
What you will bring
You will have experience managing or leading an IT team, alongside strong practical knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune and hardware configuration.
You will understand how to keep services running while making improvements, manage suppliers effectively and explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues. You will also bring experience of disaster recovery, licensing, change management and data protection.
We want to hear what you have improved, how you led the work and what difference it made.
You may already be an IT Manager or Head of IT. You could also be a technical team leader ready to take on broader responsibility. Previous team leadership is essential; a Head of IT title is not.
Why this opportunity?
You will have scope to develop a team, influence technology decisions and build a more proactive IT function. Your work will help colleagues across the organisation deliver their services with greater confidence and fewer technological barriers.
