You Are You have spent years at the intersection of engineering data and real product development, and you have learned that the hardest part of digital transformation is not implementing the software, it is getting organizations to actually trust and use the data. You understand that materials information is not just metadata, it is the foundation of every simulation, qualification decision, and design trade off that matters. You are comfortable walking into a room with a manufacturing engineer, a simulation lead, and an IT architect and finding the common thread that makes a materials data strategy work across all three. You do not need a perfect requirements document to get started. You ask the right questions, map the data flows, and build solutions that scale beyond the pilot project. You have seen what happens when materials data lives in spreadsheets, emails, and tribal knowledge, and you know how to fix it. What You'll Be Doing - Partner with sales teams during the technical sales cycle, delivering demonstrations, proof-of-concept work, and technical presentations that show how Material Information Management solves real customer problems - Act as the senior technical advisor and primary contact for customers implementing materials data management platforms, guiding them through integration with PLM, CAE, and enterprise systems - Lead workshops and technical sessions with engineering, IT, and product development teams to map materials data workflows, identify gaps, and design scalable solutions - Translate complex data governance and integration challenges into clear, actionable recommendations for both hands-on engineers and senior leadership - Serve as the subject-matter expert for Material Information Management within customer engagements and internal initiatives, shaping how the technology is positioned and deployed - Collaborate with product management and development teams to influence roadmap priorities, interoperability features, and usability improvements based on field feedback - Mentor application engineers and contribute to internal best practices, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous improvement across the team The Impact You Will Have - Enable customers to standardize and scale materials data management across global engineering organizations, eliminating silos and reducing duplication - Reduce engineering risk by improving data quality, traceability, and accessibility, so teams can make faster, more confident decisions - Accelerate innovation by connecting materials data to simulation, qualification, and design workflows, shortening time from concept to production - Position materials information as a strategic enabler of digital engineering transformation, not just a compliance checkbox - Strengthen long-term customer relationships through trust, credibility, and measurable technical outcomes that prove ROI - Shape the evolution of materials data management best practices within Synopsys and across the industry What You'll Need - 5+ years of experience in engineering, engineering software, technical consulting, or customer-facing technical roles - Strong understanding of product development processes and how engineering data flows across the lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing - Hands-on experience or deep familiarity with Material Information Management or enterprise materials data management platforms - Working knowledge of database systems, data modelling concepts, and API-based integrations - Experience with engineering data management, PLM integration, or digital engineering workflows - Professional proficiency in English and French/German - Experience with CAE, PLM, or materials data management platforms is a plus - Exposure to agile or iterative project delivery methodologies is a plus Who You Are - You can sit in a technical workshop with a simulation engineer and an IT architect, understand both perspectives, and find the integration path that works for the organization - You explain complex data governance trade offs to a VP in two sentences without losing the nuance or oversimplifying the risk - You manage multiple customer engagements and internal projects at once without dropping threads or losing sight of what matters most - You are curious and forward-thinking, always asking how a solution could scale, what could break, and what the customer will need six months from now - You mentor colleagues naturally, sharing what you have learned and elevating the capability of the team around you - You are comfortable with ambiguity and can move forward with incomplete information, asking the right questions and adjusting as you learn The Team You'll Be Part Of You will join a collaborative, cross-functional team of engineers, consultants, and product specialists dedicated to enabling digital transformation in materials data management.
