Role Description The Safety Compliance Specialist at HE Tea Break is a part-time remote role focused on strengthening health and safety awareness and best practices within the community and content. This role involves reviewing episode topics, scripts, and materials to ensure they align with relevant health and safety standards, particularly in the context of professional services and higher education environments. The specialist will develop concise guidance notes, checklists, and talking points that help viewers understand practical safety considerations, such as ergonomics, stress management, and safe working practices. Day-to-day tasks include conducting risk-aware reviews of content, advising on appropriate safety messaging, and collaborating with the hosts to integrate safety themes into live sessions and digital resources. The person in this role may also support the design of short training segments or resources that encourage safer working habits among the audience. Qualifications - Candidates should possess skills in Health & Safety and Occupational Health to interpret and apply relevant guidance to professional and higher education settings. - Candidates should possess skills in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) to recognize environmental and workplace risk factors and advise on practical mitigations. - Candidates should possess skills in Safety Training to help shape clear, accessible safety messages and educational content for a diverse audience. - Candidates should possess skills in Accident Investigation to understand incident trends, root causes, and lessons learned that can inform practical discussions and resources. - Relevant qualifications such as a certificate or diploma in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent) are beneficial. - Experience applying health and safety principles in office, professional services, or higher education environments is preferred. - Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain safety concepts in clear, accessible language. - Comfort working independently in a remote setting and collaborating asynchronously with a small, creative team.
