Description

p> strong>Senior Protocol Engineer (Move VM) /strong> /p> p> br> /p> p>Global Settlement · Miami, Florida (in person) · Full-time · Blockchain Infrastructure /p> p> em>Own the Move VM layer of GSX Chain, a dual-VM settlement network for regulated stablecoins, tokenized funds, and real-world assets. This goes well beyond smart contracts: you ll write production Move, and you ll also shape the VM itself, the resource model standard every issuer builds on, and the tooling around it. Move and Rust. In person in Miami. Meaningful early-stage equity. /em> /p> p>The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $240,000 per year. /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>About Global Settlement /strong> /p> p>Global Settlement (GSX, globalsettlement.com) is building institutional-grade blockchain settlement infrastructure that bridges traditional banking and digital markets through stablecoins, commodities, FX, and real-world assets (RWAs). Think the global settlement reach of SWIFT, rebuilt for real-time, regulated digital asset transactions. /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>The role /strong> /p> p>You own what runs on GSX Chain s native Move VM: the core asset modules, the resource and object model that keeps regulated assets safe, the standards issuers build against, and the developer tooling around them. GSX runs the Move VM alongside the EVM over shared account state, and Move is where the money-critical code lives. If you get it wrong, an asset can be minted, moved, or frozen when it should not be. /p> p>This is a protocol-adjacent role. You will work with the VM, the shared balance map, and chain finality daily, and you will shape how the Move VM itself evolves on GSX Chain. /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>What you ll do /strong> /p> ul> li>Shape how the Move VM evolves on GSX Chain, including its integration with the EVM over shared account state and the shared balance map. /li> li>Design and build the core Move modules, the smart contract layer of the chain: regulated asset types, issuer and compliance controls, transfer rules, and the registries behind them. /li> li>Define the resource and object model standards that issuers, the application suite, and the EVM projection build against. /li> li>Harden Move code against asset-safety failures: formal specification with the Move Prover where it pays, exhaustive testing, and external audit. /li> li>Build the developer tooling: SDK bindings, test frameworks, and deployment paths for Move on GSX Chain. /li> li>Own the incident path for VM and module faults, including upgrade and migration of live modules. /li> li>Work directly with the protocol, application, and tokenization engineers, and with issuers integrating on the chain. /li> li>This role is a hands-on coding role with roughly 80% of your time spent coding, 10% of time spent strategizing and coordinating with team members, and 10% of your time spent documenting. /li> /ul> li> /li> p> strong>What you bring /strong> /p> ul> li>5+ years of software engineering, with production Move experience on Aptos, Sui, or a comparable Move chain. 6 months of production Move required; 2+ years preferred. Strong protocol or lead blockchain engineers from a comparable resource-oriented or Rust-based chain are encouraged to apply. /li> li>Deep understanding of the Move resource model, abilities, object ownership, and the failure modes they prevent. /li> li>Production depth in Move and Rust, and the flexibility to switch stacks as the roadmap moves. /li> li>Experience shipping audited asset or token modules that hold real value. /li> li>Understanding of blockchain execution, state, and finality beyond the contract layer. /li> li>Daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to multiply your output and the team s. You can take a three-bullet brief and execute without hand-holding. /li> /ul> p> br> /p> p> strong>Nice to have /strong> /p> ul> li>Move VM internals, Move Prover, or compiler contributions. /li> li>Dual-VM or EVM interoperability experience. /li> li>Regulated stablecoin, tokenized fund, or RWA issuance systems. /li> li>Financial services or regulated settlement background. /li> li>Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). /li> /ul> p> br> /p> p> strong>Who this isn t for: /strong> Solidity-only engineers, or backend engineers without production Move. If you ve shipped Move to mainnet, we want to talk. /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>Why join Global Settlement /strong> /p> ul> li>Work on genuinely new ground: a dual-VM architecture over shared account state, alongside other groundbreaking implementation details that haven t been built before, solving real problems across TradFi and DeFi /li> li>As an early team member, strong potential to become a key part of engineering and help guide technical vision and the fundamental design decisions for the chain /li> li>Work at the intersection of blockchain infrastructure, traditional finance, and regulatory innovation /li> /ul> p> br> /p> p> strong>Location /strong> /p> p>This role is IN PERSON at our office in Miami, Florida. /p> p>New hires may start remote and relocate to Miami within 60 days of start date; relocation support is potentially available. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. /p> p> br> /p> p> strong>How to apply /strong> /p> p>To apply, include a link to Move code you ve shipped: a GitHub repo, a mainnet module address, or an audit report. Apply through our LinkedIn posting or the careers page on our website. /p> p>Join us at Global Settlement and help build the future of digital payments on institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure. /p> p> br> /p>
